It was alright, but I found all the characters a bit irritating. I enjoyed the second story more than the first - the protagonist, Nanako, was a bit churlish, but seeing as she's a teenager with the sudden unwanted responsibility of living with an unwanted, unknown little brother, it's reasonable that she wouldn't be happy about it. In the first story, however, I kind of hated the mother, always giggling and teasing and never giving a straight answer, followed a dissatisfying denouement that I felt didn't really redeem the annoying behavior earlier in the story. I liked the book well enough to keep reading, but I don't think I would go out of my way to really recommend it to anyone.
