This series is turning out to be the perfect "in between" read.
This books picks up a couple of months after the end of the first book. Dane and Charlotte are engaged, but she's reluctant to set a wedding date. Dane and his son, Jayden, have a bit of a strained relationship and frustrations and regrets are flying high. Dane wants to complete their family, but both Charlotte and Jayden have fears that he may leave again. How can he prove to them that he's in it for the long haul? How can he reach Jayden and show him that he belongs as a MacKenzie?
I'm seriously loving this MacKenzie clan! This book is overflowing with family and love. Does the pacing move a little too fast? Yes. Could the story be a little more developed? Yes. I especially wish we would have seen when Dane and Jayden met. How much do I care? Not very much. Oh, and have I mentioned that the sex is hot as hell?! We're talking INFERNO! Wowza!
The conflict is resolved quickly and easily, with little angst and lots of love, and we're provided with a wonderfully sweet epilogue. Oh, and we get a great story about the MacKenzie family history. I'm wondering (and hoping) something about that plays out in future books! Buried treasure, ya'll!!!
I definitely recommend this series for when you're short on reading time but looking to scratch that reading itch. Since each brother's full story is told in a duo of short novellas, these are the perfect quick, in between books that will give you endearing characters, an engaging story and a great family to fall in love with.

4.5 Stars! Way to go Liliana Hart! This is just what I was looking for!
I read Dane about 2 years ago, and while I felt it was a steamy little short and had potential, it lacked depth. I always wondered if the author would revisit with these characters and expand on their story. Well much to my surprise and delight she did, and wrote a fantastic story! The whole MacKenzie family gets involved. Still plenty of steam between Charlotte and Dane, but what I really enjoyed was seeing Dane and Jayden find their footing and build a relationship. Then the author topped it off with a beautiful epilogue. Liliana Hart made me a happy camper!

Dane A Christmas Wish was a follow up novella/short story within the Mackenzie Family series by Liliana Hart.
The storyline picked up a couple months after the first book concluded. Dane and Charlotte were together but still wading through the waters. I would have liked to have seen the scene where Dane met Jayden - preferably in book one, but definitely in this follow up since it wasn’t included previously. I felt like I missed a lot; however, Hart painted the picture of what had occurred and the current challenges. Otherwise, it was a quick erotica read with heavy focus on the sex scenes while maneuvering through the details of still trying to find their forever love.

Loved Loved Loved this - watching Dane try to build a relationship with his son was heartwarming and the moment when Jayden finally called him 'dad' made my eyes go all watery! This was a lovely end to Dane and Charlotte's story and anyone who has read 'Dane' should definitely read this.

Again, too short but I'm glad we had gotten more from Dane, Charlotte, and Jayden. I wish we had gotten to read about Dane meeting Jayden for the 1st time but it was nice to see them come together.

But let me tell you, after I read Dane, the first in the Mackenzie Brothers Series I knew I wanted to read more by Liliana Hart.

It was a lot of story to pack into 50 pages, and my only real complaint was that I wanted MORE!!!

Dane wants so much to be a real family with Charlotte and his son Jayden, but Charlotte, though having some fuck-hot sex with Dane, is avoiding setting a date. Since they aren't married, there are no sleepovers in front of Jayden. But they really have a fun, playful relationship that I adore.
"Now tell me how my rippling muscles and prowess turn you on, and that you're impressed by my show of strength. Don't you know you're supposed to stroke a man's ego?"
She snickered. "Sorry, I didn't know we were to the stroking part yet.""Smartass"
Jayden also kept giving Dane the brush-off, no matter how hard he tried. But when all of the hot Mackenzie guys had a snowball fight, and Jayden was included as a Mackenzie, his resolve started to falter.

When Jayden finds a family treasure map passed down through generations, he desperately wants to prove he's really part of the family. And he does, especially to himself.

Dislikes:
•I would have liked to see a few scenes from the months in between the first and second book, but perhaps there are glimpses of the couple in the other brother's books.

The combination of the 2 books, Dane, (currently free) and A Christmas Wish: Dane made for a wonderful and sexy Christmas read. Both quick enough to read in the rare moments of downtime during the and hot enough to read as a bedtime story (wink wink) ;-)

So happy!
Loved this story. Left me with a warm happy feeling. Loving MacKensie family welcomes Charlotte and son Jayden into their folds. Dane is loving getting to know his 9 year old son he just found out about and he's determined to be the best father and husband ever. Of course, Charlie throws him for a loop with her surprise. Very good.

This was the perfect continuation of Dane...it completed what felt very unfinished in the first book.

This outing is a few months after Dane, the engagement between Dane and Charlie is still on but she and Jayden don't exactly trust that they can believe Dane's actually going to stick around. Dane isn't sure what else he can do to prove to Charlie that he wants their family whole.
For this cynical reader's taste, these likeable but thin characters in an almost invisible storyline and brief but predictable outing actually fare better than in its predecessor. While I plan to read a couple more to determine this series status on my TBR at this point it isn't much more than an entertaining mind mint between heavier reads.

eu gostei mais desse que o livro real, mas é meio besta. eu achei bem fofo a relação de todos eles juntos, tipo, como uma família 🫶🏻🥹 os mackenzies todos juntos, o riley (meu amor) jogando bola dentro de casa e levando bronca, a relação do jayden com o próprio dane se desenvolvendo e no final ele chamando o dane de “pai”. muito queridos, muito fofos.
amo vibe de natal e mesmo que danecharlotte não tenha sido uau pra mim, são queridos demais e eu amei que eles tiveram mais filhos. mais um menino, sendo muito bem vindo na família mackenzie também.

So much better and more enjoyable than book 1.
This felt realistic and actually had a story rather than just sex. The sex scenes in this went with the story flow, not overpowered it.
Will be looking into reading the next book.

It's not a bad story-line, but it lacks something and the characters seems have no depth. You finishes the story without Knowing them.
I really tried to like... I was looking for new author to start reading, but unfortunately Lilliana Hart writing style is not for me.

This is a continuation of Dane and Charlotte’s first book, it picks up a few months after their book ended. I’m glad they got more of their story told, because it did feel unfinished at the end of Dane. While we got a little bit more of an ending this time around, it did still feel rushed.

This book is the follow up to “Dane”, which was, in my opinion an unfinished book. This booked tied up all the loose ends that should have been tied up in the first book. For what it’s worth, it seems to me that this separating of the books that she’s doing from one long, complete book into two, shorter books is most likely a way to make more money. Oh well, moving right along. This was a continuation of Dane and Charlotte love story with Dane ready to fully commit, and Charlotte dragging her feet all because she is concerned for how it will affect their son Jayden. Little does Dane know that Charlotte is already pregnant again or all bets would be off. Jayden is struggling to find his place in the MacKenzie family. On Christmas Eve, he decides to set out on an adventure that would prove he is a Mackenzie. Trouble is, he decides to do this alone and during a snow storm. When they find him missing they call in all hands and set out frantically to find him before it’s too late. Dane finds his son hunkered down to his immense relief and after an honest talk discovers that perhaps there is room in his son’s heart for him after all. He tells Jayden how much he loves his mother and how much he wants to marry her. Jayden asks him if that will make him an “official” Mackenzie? Dane assures him that he already “is” an official MacKenzie. Returning Jayden to a tremendously relieved Charlotte, Dane knows he has everything he wants for Christmas, save for a “yes” to his marriage proposal from Charlotte. Will she finally say yes? Will she tell him about the baby? Will this book finally have the happy ending it should have had with “Dane”?.... I could tell you, but where is the fun in that?
