Hope in a Lost World

Great story!!! The plot, the theme, the characters, and the storyline are all so enter laced and flow together so well, that if I could give ten stars I would. This book is indeed worth at read,I have no doubt that what ever type of book you enjoy you would enjoy this book. Great Read, thanks Amanda Washington.

The Good...

When I first started reading Rescuing Liberty, I wasn't positive that I would be able to finish it, but I'm so glad I pushed on. The dark beginning firmly sets the reader in a dystopian fantasy world where what's expected and what's reality is completely turned around. It's a fantastic setup for the rest of the story as we are continually thrust into seeing every situation from multiple points of view.<

This was an amazing read! very detailed, a little confusing at first knowing what was going on(as I didn't read the "back of the book" but it skipped from one to the other) lots of "backflashes" in form of dreams giving insight to the characters. the emotions each character display are so real! and not just that a character might have them, but written with a force that owns them. A spiritual/religious aspect was phenomenal in a world where people no longer believe, it's so strong with Liberty a ...more

This book has an interesting premise --- the U.S. melts down, basically, due to trying to bail out too many corporations. And I could mostly handle the main character communing with god repeatedly. But the story was just over-the-top gory, so much so that it felt like the author watches a lot of sensational TV and was trying to mimic that. After a while, I just stopped being able to stomach the violence.

I really enjoyed this book. I kept trying to imagine myself in the same circumstances!! I like Liberty. I liked that she did not trust Connor right away. I liked Ashley's character. She gives a softness to both Liberty and Connor. I'm glad Connor did not stay the ego maniac attorney or I could never like him. Looking forward to the next book.

The beginning of the book was hard for me to get in to. I really enjoyed it once everything started moving. One of my only complaints is that the plot started to get farfetched towards the end. his army buddy randomly showing up and saving them? the army of killer teenagers? I would read the sequel but I wouldn't want to spend money on it. I got this book for free on amazon.

In An Oyster Shell- This book is not my preferred genre and yet it kept my attention with a unique storyline and excellent storytelling with characters you learn to cheer for. A more in-depth review is available at

I loved this book! I typically don't enjoy works written in first person, but Amanda Washington weaves a story that sucks you in and you feel like you're trying to survive right along with Liberty. Rooting for her to survive and give Connor a chance! GREAT book!

This was a good book but I hated all the religious parts that were added. I feel like it was too much. I would have given it 5 stars without it!!
