The little girl’s mother has a unique characteristic which stands out amongst other mothers. Her socks are quite amazing and unusual. Mom’s Amazing Socks is an original way of introducing the Niqab which provides the setting for the special bond between the narrator and her mother through a humorous scenario.

This simple and incredibly cute book features a mother in niqab! It is so incredibly rare to have a niqabi even pictured in a book, never mind one of the main characters and I hope there are more to come. A little girl says she recognises her mum by her socks and goes through each day of the week and the style of sock her mum wears. Throughout there is an emphasis on family.
There's only about a sentence per page with partial tashkeel. I needed a little help to read it the first time but once I was comfortable, it's a quick and easy read. Nice for learning days of the week and vocabulary in regards to describing the patterns on clothes.
