Earth In the Beginning

Rate this book
With a background in the physical sciences, Dr. Eric Skousen has produced a stunning account of the creation of the earth from the findings of earth scientists and the teachings of the Lord’s prophets. At last, many perplexing questions about the earth’s creation can be answered with confidence. How long did it take? Where did it take place? What about evolution, fossils, dinosaurs and cave men? The answers are here. For those who have been challenged to explain the earth’s creation from an LDS viewpoint, this book will be helpful and enlightening. And for those who simply enjoy contemplating both the discoveries of science and the revelations of God, this book will be extremely stimulating and thought-provoking. Fully illustrated. Interesting concept but a biased view

I found the book revealing in parts and boring and inclined to have that biased view held by most scientists that think their ideas are the only correct opinions. His collection of only LDS and scientists extracts that agreed with his view left me wondering why he didn't give credence to those LDS leaders and scientists with differing views.

Fascinating reading. Skousens assertions are similar enough to my own, this book just filled in the blanks for me. I have read it twice now.

The most mindblowing book I've ever read! And it's no fiction at all. Rather, it's a religious literature that takes scientific discoveries to explain the origins of the Earth. Must read.

Much that is true. Some things that are questionable.

This work is well researched ad well written. Very enjoyable and well worth the time. However some conclusions are questionable, and some in opposition to accepted Gospel principles.
