LIFE IN THE CINEMA is a short story collection from noted horror movie director Mick Garris. Garris is surprisingly gifted at writing prose--on par with some modern day greats--but these stories mostly fell flat for me. They tend towards being incredibly gruesome and unpleasant rather than scary. The best two of the bunch can also be found as the opening chapters of his novel, DEVELOPMENT HELL.
