She whined about her summer vacations being boring. Now, She'd give anything to make things go back to the way they were and continue with her inconsequential life in the small suburban town of Villa Chica. But, fate had other plans and she has to hide, to run away from everything she knows and thought she hated. The one good thing that came with it? A fire that burned at the pit of her stomach ignited by electric blue eyes and a crooked smile. Unexpectedly pulled into a darker perception of the world she lives in, Kennedy Riser will have to face the horrors that she has long tried her best to deny as the fight for survival begins.
I read this book back in high school when I used books as an escape from life, was sad when a second didn't come out. That might detour some people from reading this book but I'm glad I did and I still think about this book almost 10 years later.
I'd read the next installment of this series, though I see no indication on here of there ever being one. There were a handful of editing mishaps and I would have liked more world building, but overall it was an entertaining read.
I enjoys the story immensely and am anxious to read thee rest of this fantastic tale. The characters are developed and the world is rich. I wold recommend this book to fantasy fas
