Bill Yenne is the author of several novels and over three dozen books on historical topics. He has also been a contributor to encyclopedias of both world wars.

This operation really needs a new comprehensive study. The Yenne book is OK, but the maps are unreadable and it lacks a bibliography. It coukd do with more analysis to go along with the chronological narrative,
