Fired, broke, and nowhere to go, Luvie Beiderman moves back to her hometown and opens up Primp My Pet Mobile Pet Spa.
Jase Nelson is hot, smart, and has a big heart. Especially when it comes to his Irish Setter Duke. After Primp My Pet pulls into the dog park and Luvie gets out, Jase knows there is definitely enough space in his big heart for another redhead.
Jase isn't as perfect as everyone thinks. Can Luvie groom him to be Mr. Right?

I loved the premise of this book when I read the blurb. As a dog groomer, I'm a sucker for books with groomers. The first 45% was awesome, we got to know Luvie and see how she ended up from farm girl to city girl and back, but I lost faith when she just grabbed a pair of clippers and groomed a Bichon on her first day in 2 hours with no training or experience. After that the story became rushed and lacking of any connection or continuity. Jade, Luvie's love interest had no development other than being hot. Instalove is usually not an issue with me but with the hero being so one dimensional, I struggled with it. The ending 25% was completely rushed, and the story ended abruptly. I really wished the story had stuck with the flow of the first half.
I am a big fan of Tonya Kappes's cozy mysteries. This is the first straight up romance of her's if have read and I loved it. Luvie is such a great main character. When she is fired from her job in NY City she returns home to Lexington, Kentucky not quite sure what she is going to do. With the help of her grandmother, she begins a wildly successful mobile pet grooming business. When she meets Jase sparks fly and with a little push from their grandmothers they begin dating. While the book is a romance, the focus was equally on Luvie's growth as independent adult. The book has wonderful secondary characters. I recommend this book to all romance readers.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator Trish McKinnley did an excellent job bringing Luvie to life.
Tonya has done it again, this book is wonderful! Luvie moves away from home and tries to make it on her own as a fashion designer. She ends up getting fired from her job and is broke, so she sells what she can to get enough money to buy a bus ticket and goes home. Her grandma helps her get started doing pet grooming. Luvie's grandma helps her open a mobile pet spa, called Primp My Pet. Luvie soon has her calendar filled with appointments that her grandma helped her set up with her friends from her retirement center. Luvie ends up meeting sexy Jase who has a Irish Setter at a dog park. I love Luvie and Jase's story. This book is full of wonderful characters, with plenty of love and laughter. I am so glad that Tonya is going to make this into a series. I can't wait to read the next book.
Tonya Kappes did a terrific job with this book. Luvie Beiderman, has high hopes as a fashion designer in New York, but things don't work out as she plans. She packs up and moves back home to her parents in Kentucky. Luvie, never lets life get her down, and with her lovable granny's help, she opens a mobile pet spa, called "Primp my Pet". This is how she first meets Jase Nelson, a sexy hunk, who happens to own a beautiful Irish setter, but can he also own a piece of her heart? I highly recommend this book, it is a fast paced romance with a lot of humor thrown in. And the secondary characters are a mixed lovable bunch, that all want to help Luvie, find the direction her life needs to take.
Oh how I loved GROOMING MR. RIGHT! Romance/chick lit is my favorite genre of books and I absolutely loved this story. It's one of those where you don't want to put it down because it's flowing right along so nicely and you MUST find out what happens. Plus, it includes two of my favorite things ... love and pets. I kept thinking that I could easily see this being made into one of those sweet feel good Hallmark movies. I highly recommend Grooming Mr. Right. You will not be disappointed.
This book was a perfect fit for me! When one door closes, another opens. Well, in this case it's a hot pink RV door! I loved the little twist in Luvie's love life and the "feel good" quality of this read. Definitely a book for you pet lovers!
What a cute romance! Tonya Kappes is a favorite author of mine. Her books are so lively and fun. Time really flies while I read them. Grooming Mr Right brings Luvie back home from New York City to Kentucky. She goes from fashion designer to pet groomer. Her life isn't turning out to be what she hoped it would be. Can she find love in the town she grew up in or is she better off in New York City? Tonya Kappes has a down home, comfortable writing style. You open a book and immediately feel at home. The characters are colorful and sometimes trouble but are always a hoot to get to know. Grooming Mr Right is the first book in the Bluegrass Romance series. It is a quick afternoon read. The romance is sweet and fun with sprinkles of spicy kisses and hot embraces. The characters are funny, quirky and caring...good people that you enjoy spending time with. Grab a cold drink, a beach towel and head outside to get some sun while you enjoy an afternoon of fun reading.
This cute book is set in my hometown of Lexington Ky. I loved it! As an avid dog lover (we only adopt our furry family) I was pleased with the story that respects my desire to rescue! Now it’s time for another Kapps read!
Grooming Mr. Right is book # 1 in the Bluegrass Romance Series by Tonya Kappes. It is fun, romantic, playful, and a fast paced read. Luvie gets blindsided from her job when she thinks she is getting promoted and instead is fired. She loved her junior fashion design job in NY City. Going back to her small town in Kentucky was the last thing she wanted. With no way to stay, she is forced to move back...under her parent's roof. Her Granny makes being home not so bad. She helps her start her mobile pet spa called Primp My Pet. Luvie even dates one of her client's owners, Jase Nelson. Jase is hunky, tall, and very much the gentleman. Luvie has created her new life in her hometown when she is offered her dream design job in New York City. She has to decide whether she will take the career she has always dreamed of or stay where she is with the man she loves.
"Grooming Mr. Right" was a quick, light, fun romantic read. If you pick this book to read, you won't be disappointed. Tonya Kappes has a great way of bringing likable characters to life. Luvie Bierderman is a quirky character that is relatable and you wanted to cheer on throughout the story. Who has not had big dreams and high aspirations and once they were attained was a little let down? I've read most of the books Mrs. Kappes has published. Each book has characters you love and places you wish existed. "Grooming Mr. Right" was exactly what I expected in a story dreamed up by Ms. Kappes. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Luvie and Jase were absolutely wonderful! This story was written so well! Everything came together in the most perfect way! I loved how so many aspects of the book were connected! It was a very interesting puzzle that I was not expecting, but really really liked! I felt so bad for Luvie. Her entire life comes crashing down in a matter of minutes, but she dusts herself off and keeps going. It made for a very entertaining read with an amazing and strong female character. Even the animals were great! Honestly, every single itty bitty part of this book was an amazing contribution to its awesomeness! Definitely check it out! You will not be disappointed!
I won the audio book of “Grooming Mr. Right” through one of Tonya Kappes giveaways. This was my first Tonya’s book and hopefully not the last one. I really like the southern accent of the narrator, but I am not quite sure I actually like the way she read the book.
As for the book itself, I enjoyed it very much – it was funny and romantic, with the main character growing up from being a woman who lived on the whim to the woman who made smart decisions. I liked how she brought her family back together. The descriptions of the actual work of “Primp my pet” was very entertaining and brought smiles on my face.
This was a great, quick ready by Tonya Kappes. When Lovie loses her design job in New York and moves back to Kentucky, her grandma blindsides her and the next thing she knows, she owns a mobile pet spa. Even though she doesn’t know the first thing about grooming, she starts with online tutorials and is soon booked up. Luvie meets Jase at the dog park and through a series of follow up “accidental” meetings, they are spending more and more time together. This book is funny, engaging and romantic. It moves quickly and there is never a dull moment. There are plenty of hiccups for these two, but they are so engaging you are rooting for them to have a happy ending.
Fired, broke, and nowhere to go, Luvie moves back to her hometown and opens up Primp My Pet Mobile Pet Spa with the help of her grandmother. Jase is hot, smart, and has a big heart. Especially when it comes to his Irish Setter Duke. After Primp My Pet pulls into the dog park and Luvie gets out, Jase knows there is definitely enough space in his big heart for another redhead. Jase isn't as perfect as everyone thinks.
Luvie and Jase both start out their relationship with lies and omissions. Luvie is trying to make her own way in life without her family's assistance. Jase tries to explain to Luvie what is going on but she runs away. A cute story.
I absolutely loved this! Luvie thinks she's getting a promotion but ends up fired instead. She has to go back home to her parents who never thought she should go to school for fashion design in the first place. Thanks to her quirky Granny, she ends up grooming dogs. I loved Granny and there were some other great characters as well. I would like to see Luvie's friends get their own books. This is just a fun, light, quick read. Sweet, clean romance with a chick lit feel. I can't wait to try some of the author's mysteries next!

THIS WAS A WONDERFUL HAPPY ENTERTAINING BOOK. I LOVED IT FROM THE START. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE OF THE SERIES. A FEEL GOOD STORY.
This is an adorable story about a woman who hits rock bottom trying to chase her dreams in New York and has to crawl back home to her family. Her spunky grandmother forces her to start a pet grooming business and before you know it she has a new dream. This story is fast paced and has a great feel good vibe to it. I wished the romance section had a little more detail, since we didn't know much about Jase other than where he worked. I love animals and found the story line to be fun and quirky. Great read.
If you love animals and romance you will absolutely love this book!! This is the best of both worlds. A big touch of both worlds. Sit back and enjoy both worlds in one GREAT book. It's well worth the price.
Fun and free. What more could you possibly ask for. This will cause you to call your pet for some extra loving. Pets every where will appreciate your reading this book. Have fun and enjoy the pleasure you will gain from this book.
Absolutely loved this book! Normally I'm hesitant to read books from my home state, because of how the characters can be portrayed. But this book catches the huge variety of people you could actually encounter in Kentucky perfectly! Characters are engaging and entertaining. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
The heroine is at a turning point in her life. Screwed over by her boss and broke, she has no choice but to go home with her tail between her legs. But can she bounce back with the help of her family and friends? Then she meets Mr. Right. Funny and light. Highly recommend.
Another great Tonya Kappes book with a fun story line, fun loving characters, and a bit of dating drama. GROOMING MR RIGHT made me laugh and even made me cry....very well written and hope to see more stories about the lives of Jase, Luvie , and Primp my Pet!
Tightly written story with characters you want to know better. If you're looking for an enjoyable, quick read, this may well be the book for you. Will defiantly buy and read the second book.
