An appealing picture book that looks just perfect on my tablet, Ruth Whenham’s Captain Sillyvoice is easy to read, easy to navigate, and great fun. The author even includes instructions on how to talk in a silly voice like the Captain of her ship! Kids will love trying it out. And brief introductions to all the characters on the first pages invite lots of conversations about “Oh look, there’s...” (and a parrot) during reading.

I received this book free through Goodreads First Read.

What a great little book. The kids (and I) thoroughly enjoyed it. The illustrations are perfect for the story and the kids enjoyed trying to speak like Captain Sillyvoice.

I would certainly recommend this book.

A brilliant read. A different kind of pirate with an unusual talent, his gifted crew plus a parrot overseeing the action on every page. Loved reading the story and can't wait for the next instalment

Really loved this book, the characters are great and has little activities for the kids too. Definitely glad I bought the book, eagerly waiting for more books from this author!

A fantastic, humourous romp involving Captain Silly Voice and his Pirate friends. Entertaining for children and parents alike and we are all looking forward to more of his adventures on the high seas!

My boys liked the rhymes in this book. They laughed when they tried to stand on their heads holding their noses.

I thought the extra characters were not really needed and some of the text was too small but the illustrations were bright and colourful.

We liked it.
