Part horror novel, part Chick Tract warning of the dangers of Ouija Boards. Extremely entertaining.

I read this book as a young teen and loved it. The story still haunts me to this day, any time a ouija board is mentioned. Awesome book that I look forward to reading again.
3 out of 5 ☆s.
This is book 1/15 in The Dark Forces collection. It reminded me quite a bit of The Exorcist only with a Ouija board and twin sisters. I suppose that's because it's another possession story. This book was also more of a YA version than adult so it didn't have all the "colorful language" that The Exorcist had. Haha Anyway, I enjoyed the story and read it within one sitting. Looking forward to continuing on with the next book from the Dark Forces collection.

Oh this brought me right back to my pre- pubescent self, huddled under the covers, reading with a flashlight because my parents removed my lightbulb so I would go to sleep instead of staying up all night reading scary books. I loved this book then, and, finally finding it after all these years, I loved it again.

I just couldn't keep reading. It's a slow-paced novel that reminded me of The Exorcist.

Terri and Julie are twin sisters who live beside an idyllic lakeside with their mother Karen and father Mike. Over their summer break the sisters and their father are involved in a car accident which leaves Julie in a wheelchair. The accident tears the family apart, turning sister against sister and father against mother. Terri finds solace in her long term boyfriend Scott but Julie, under self imposed exile in her room, has no one except for the voice who speaks to her through her Ouija board.

This is the first one I read as a kid and it still holds up. It's a story about twins, but this ain't Sweet Valley high. ...more

I loved all these Dark Forces books when I was 12-13 and have re-read them several times, even as an adult! This is the one about the twin sisters and how one of them becomes victim to a demonic entity from a Ouija board.

I read all of the books in this teen horror series over and over in junior high and high school. I'm sure if I read them now I would find them hideous (in the bad way), but because I loved them so much then, I'm giving them all five stars! ...more

This is one of those books I read as a teen. Very quick read, and not complicated. Good message to beware playing with the dark side.
