This is a really interesting prequel about Levi! I docked a star because half of this volume felt like filler, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I also felt that the art was a lot cleaner in this volume than in some of the more recent Attack on Titan volumes, which I definitely appreciated while reading this.

First, I LOVE YOU ARMIN!!! But, I cannot write off the beast that is Levi. He is sooooo sexy <3

I must get this, I must know MORE about Snk. And more about Levi, because how did he get so badass?-Because he already was!!

Armin, don't worry, I swear I am true to you!

*Sits in corner hoping he isn't made canon with some other it wrong that I wish I might live there, just to be with Armin? In a world surrounded by Titans??? Heehee....the life of a fangirl is a difficult one.*

It was nice to read more about Levi's past (I mean he is my favorite character, right after Mikasa), and how he and Arwin met. The art style is also really good, even though I do prefer Isayama's art style a little better.

On to second volume.

All I have to say is, Levi.
I might have enjoyed this volume more than any of the original AOT manga series, despite a lack of my favorite character, Mikasa. Reading and watching AOT, I never really got Levi, or particularly cared for him. (Probably mostly because I never got far enough into the story to really grow attached to him?) He simply was the character with the dead eyes that my Goddaughter got me to impersonate, with photographic evidence that should be burnt. Regardless, this volume contained actual character de ...more

I wish (if you know what I mean)).

I trusted in my own strength... I trusted in the decisions of comrades who had ear

I have a new appreciation for cleaning.

Seriously, this is me right now...
To-do-list: 1) Levi, 2) Levi, 3) Levi...

Again, I blame you, Emma.

I saw this at my local library and I don't think I have ever ripped a book out of a shelf faster.

My glorious and heart-wrenching journey with Attack on Titan started a while ago. I don't really remember exactly. My friend told me about it a couple of months after it came out and I said, "Sure, why not? Titans, sounds exciting. Like, Greek or something."

I hadn't realized it was an anime, but I watched the first episode… and I promptly closed my computer because that was pretty damn terrifying. Bu

Levi is here and he's ready to rip your face off.

If you want to get to know Levi, this is your story. You like the brooding, goodlooking, slash your pal from the original series? Wanna know how he became a badass Corp Slayer? Well shit, look no further, here's all you need.

I find it interesting it went down the lamer path. I wanted to go deeper into Levi's upbringing instead of giving us a look into the day or two before he joins the corps. He's already cocky, annoyed all the time, perm bitch

This is a pretty interesting story giving back story on Levi and Erwin. I guess it's considered canon despite not being written by the original author.

Mr. Snark tells a great story (and has an awesome last name) about one of my favorite characters, and I'm glad I already had volume 2 ready to go so I could jump right into the finale.

If you're not that fortunate however, I will say that it stops in a decent place.

Mr. Suruga's artwork is good, and I feel it holds well to the origin

*giggles and blushes at the same time*

After stalking this manga/anime's fanpages on Instagram and tumblr for so long I had promised myself that I wouldn't be one of those girls who obsessed and fangirl-ed so hard on Levi.

But after reading this, I have to admit the contrary. -_- Now my phone gallery is literally filled with Levi and his heavy-lidded expressions. Oh God I'm in love. <3

This just gives me even more reasons to love Levi...he was badass from the beginning and I love how he doesn't give a shit, he just does what needs to be done. The artwork in this was gorgeous! I love the new characters too, though I get the sense maybe something bad will be happening next volume....This was a great add on complete with some hilarious moments (Levi cleaning is still the best!) and some awesome action. I'm excited to read the next volume for sure.

First let me tell you, I am a MASSIVE Levi fan girl, so of course I'm gonna love this. This manga is the first of two that tells (somewhat) of the backstory of Levi, and how he and Erwin met, as well as Levi joining the Survey Corps. I also like that we get to see a little bit of the world before the fall of Wall Maria. A great addition to the Attack on Titan universe!! On to volume 2 soon!!!

El personaje más badass y genial de Ataque a los Titanes, merecía un spin off. Y este primer tomo es increíble, sin duda no me voy a perder ni uno, el nacimiento del capitán Levi fue demasiado bueno.
