Deaf people are often seen as deficient because they can’t hear, and frequently can’t talk. But in reality, Deaf communication is faster and more precise than Hearing communication. In this book Deaf people take a look at the way Hearing people desperately try to connect with one another, and share with the reader all the tips and tricks they use to communicate more effectively. As the world moves away from discrimination and narrow-mindedness, it is time to recognize the real experts in communication, and to learn from them.
my expectations were very low (as they are for any book i'm assigned to read for a class), but this really opened my eyes to how i'm communicating and made me more aware of how i'm being presented to others.
as someone with lackluster communication skills, and a constant fear that i may be talking too much about myself and not enough about others, this is just the book i needed. definitely going to be implementing these.
Sinon, bof bof.
Excellent lessons on improving communications skills for the hearing. A must read for anybody that wants to understand people and reduce the confusion.
