It was nice to meet Wal' and the Dog although I felt I should have a magnifying glass as the strips were so tiny :)

Murray Ball put a lot of effort into writing and creating Footrot flats. # 4 has many of his best cartoons and they still are fresh and funny. I really enjoy the quint life of the characters and how they can turn simple situations into comedy gems. If I ever get a cat, I am going to name it horse.
Jack Kirby and the X-man
Footrot Flats Three expands the Footrot Flats world with the introduction of Pongo - Wal's niece.

Ball grew up in New Zealand before spending some years in Australia and South Africa. As a young man he worked for the Dominion newspaper in Wellington and the Manawatu Times before becoming a freelance cartoonist and moving to England, where he found work with publishers DC Thomson, of Dundee.

He developed his character Stanley and had it published in the influential English humour-magazine Punch.
