Peter Pan in Neverland by Jim Razzi is a Disney choose your own adventure set in Neverland. As with all choose your own adventure stories you are the main character although I found it a little strange that the character whom you are made to be is a girl. In some ways the adventure that you go on is similar to the one of the orginal Peter Pan story even though it has been Disneyfied and most of the absolutely horrible things were removed. An example of this is when Tinker Bell sets the lost boys after killing Wendy with bows in this one it is mere stones and not even slung stones. Another area where this story is different is that the indians and the lost boys are only playing rather than really fighting as happens in the original story. Hook still seems evil but his evil seems more playful than the bitterness that he and Peter had in the original story. I must have become a child for I enjoyed parts of the book where the story heated up but I did not find the simple tree structure of the book to give me a real sense of adventure. A book for children about children playing games which is a good picture of our current children today even us grown up variety.
