About the author

Romellē, [pronounced: RO-mah-lee] resides in San Francisco, California. She is published in children's magazines under the name of Romellē Guittap. Her writing has been featured in FACES, Skipping Stones, Stories for Children, and Boys Quest.

Raised in Hawaii, Romellē's childhood memories include sucking on sugarcane pulp, racing cockroaches, and riding her bike over mounds of red dirt hoping to pop a wheelie. Romellē claims she's a kid disguised as a grown-up. Today, she still enjoys sliding down steep grassy hills on cardboard boxes, splashing in puddles, and searching for dragons in the clouds.

We've all faced the "Tummy Monster" at one time or another, but for little ones it might not be as easy for them to diagnose the problem and find a cure, as one little boy discovers in Tummy Monster by Romelle Broas. When his "Tummy Monster" starts to grumble and growl he is embarrassed and tries various methods like singing to it and covering it with his jacket, but nothing seems to work. Will he ever be able to quiet the rumble in his tummy?

Tummy Monster is a whimsical rhyming story that will become a fast favorite of little ones and their parents. I especially like the option to read the story yourself or have it read to you. When the story is read to you the words are highlighted making it easy for children to follow along and allowing them to begin recognizing site words.

The illustrations are bright and engaging. Children will love the Tummy Monster as his tongue hangs out and he growls loudly.

I highly recommend picking up a copy of Tummy Monster.

Grumble, grumble, RUMBLE!!! This boy is having some tummy troubles. His Tummy Monster won’t stop making noises! What can a kid do when a monster won’t keep quiet? This is getting quite embarrassing!

This is an extremely cute book - on a topic I haven’t seen before – growling tummies! Who hasn’t had one of those? The illustrations are awesome – they remind me a bit of Japanese Manga.

This is a good story for pre-schoolers, and kindergarteners. I like how the MeeGenius book has a READ TO ME format. It has sound effects. I like that. It will make young children laugh. The rhyme is well-done. I love how it flows when you read it out loud. This book is excellent for its age-range!

We've all been in the embarrassing situation where a noisy tummy has gotten us in trouble! After singing a lullaby doesn't work, the tummy's owner finds a way to and the monster away. The illustrations bring the story to life with a monstrous looking t-shirt. The audio is fun, especially with the grumble, rumble, grrs!
