Ever wondered if angels lived among us? Protected us when we needed it most?
The league of Guardians is a band of protectors - angels that live in the realm of Aureia, a world of light and warmth, banned from protecting Earth at night, for that is when it becomes the domain of the Draxyls - cruel creatures intent of destroying Aureia and stealing the sunlight for their master, Vulgaar.
Veil is the Guardian assigned to protect Dr. Pete Standon. When he becomes the victim of a terrifying attack, she doesn't think twice about risking her own life to fly down and rescue him. However, she quickly realises a deadly trap has been set; now she is torn between her need to get home and her love for Pete.
Meanwhile her friends back in Aureia are unaware that the Veil with them now isn't what she seems. The fight has begun.
Can the Knights of the Sun defend the Guardians, Aureia and our world?
This is a wonderful YA debut novel from J P Walker - the first instalment in the Knights of the Sun trilogy, telling of the battle between the Guardians and the Draxyls, the latter of whom are intent on gaining control of the Knights of the Sun and will seemingly stop at nothing to achieve this.
There are some very emotional moments in this book - something that is only possible with good characterisation. What I really like about the characters is I can pronounce their names! This is usually a major problem for me in this genre, to the extent that I can't read it.
All in all a great story not in a genre I would usually read (see above) - intrigued to know what happens next.
