Ms. Leopold gives the reader some good insights into the daily lives of women in the Victorian Era. One can only imagine what their daily tables looked like with all of those desert options.

This teeny book packed a punch and I really enjoyed the recipes. Haven't made anything, but I did copy quite a few of the recipes. I appreciate the notes for modern cooking and can't wait to try at least seven of the recipes.
