Theo is approaching her due date -- with twins! Tony is busy running around the county trying to find the murderer of a local semi-celebrity. There are several stories running at once, some of which will tie together and some of which have nothing to do with the murder but make for good stories and fit in well in a small town setting.

I love Theo and Tony, their boys and the various friends and relatives that populate Park County, TN. There are complicated family trees (Blossom Flowers and her ex

As always, this book was not disappointing. The characters in the book have become endearing after reading the earlier books. Tony is the sheriff in this little town. His wife Theo owns her own business for quilters. His mother and her friend are two wild little old ladies that have that knack of laughter even in tense situations. The book is suspenseful and well written. Not overloaded with useless facts. Theo is getting very close to her delivery date when he quilting group (club) heads for a ...more

Very pregnant (with twins) Theo goes off to her quilting retreat, only to find a body in the bushes. She calls husband Tony, the local sheriff, who is already involved in a number of petty crimes, not to mention so many of his deputies getting married. The body count rises, but it's hard for Tony to decide if all the deaths are connected. The quilters quilt and gossip; the deputies deal with the small town's many eccentrics, and sooner or later a fairly out of the blue solution occurs. It's all ...more

I felt like there were too many characters, or that they had been developed in a previous book (I now see that this is #3 in a series.) I also felt like there were too many murders in too short a time not to be gathering national attention or having the people be more scared. It just seemed unrealistic. And people were constantly getting married - that we really didn't know - maybe they were introduced in previous books? The murderer was a complete surprise too, not that many clues were dropped ...more

Theo Abernathy is very pregnant with twins but that doesn't stop her from being involved with murder. Her husband, Tony, is sheriff of their small town. She is the owner of a quilt shop and is very busy with her quiltng group in making several wedding quilts. They are holding a quilting retreat when a guest at the lodge is found murdered. This starts a series of events that bring other murders and mayhem to the town. This is a pretty good series with interesting characters and a fair plot.

Edge of your seat, surprises round every corner

Loved the regular characters and intriguing new characters woven into unpredictable results. Loved the occasional witty tirades never spoken out loud

Every time I pick up a book from this series, I find I just can't put it down until it's finished. This is a wonderful series full of quirky and endearing characters. The mysteries are interesting without being too predictable. And there seems to be just the right touch of humour.

Starting in the middle of the series made it hard to understand all the characters in this book, and there are a LOT of them! The story was thin...some parts okay, but there were so many to track, I lost the importance once the real murderer was unveiled...

I love the quirky characters. Sorry the Armenian Embroidery class was cancelled. Was looking forward to spending more time at the Lodge with Theo's quilting friends.

I grew up in the Texas Panhandle, except for a time while my dad was in the Navy and we lived in San Diego and Pearl Harbor. After college, in Denver, having been convinced by a professor that writing was not something I ought to pursue, I decided on a whim to move to New Orleans. Later I moved to East Tennessee to see what that was like. During those years I worked in the travel industry. After m ...more
