Jenny McNeill owns and operates a candy shop called Fudgeballs. She has hopes to expand her business into the space next door but Dave Kasada, who has his kite business there, has different ideas. Dave wants to expand his business into Jenny's space. Meanwhile, they both bring their dogs to work and tie them to the same tree. Jake, Dave's bulldog, just wants to relax and enjoy but Jenny's poodle, Princess, is annoying and doesn't like it when she is not getting the attention she deserves.

This would have been a much better story if the author had just skipped the dogs "communicating" with each other. Not vital to the story line and really quite juvenile and annoying, IMO.
