This is not a typical vampire story. It is full of new twists, new takes on supernatural beings and an interesting storyline. Vampires, angels, dark angels, witches, warlocks and let’s not forget, a baby! Love all those! The author wove these characters together beautifully.

I've really enjoyed reading The Birth of Jaiden by debut author, Jennifer Malone Wright. She did a spectacular job on this book. From the moment you begin to read it, you won't be able to put it down.
Most of the vampire-paranormal books I've read are trite and the characters stereotypical, but this is not your ordinary book. Immediately, you're introduced to Alexander Lucas. I can not recommend this book enough!

I have read this book several times now since I own the original "The Birth of Jaiden" in print (& I was one of the lucky few to beta read Savior before the release) yet the end continues to play my heartstrings like a fiddle shocking me as I realize what just happened!

I am so thankful I got a chance to read/review this book!! Thank you.

I have been waiting to read this book since I started to read all of Jennifer's books, but at the time it was being redone and off the market. BUT so happy to finally be able to read it and soooo worth the wait too!!!

I loved every part of this book....The good, the bad, and the ugly. LOL Alex has such a strong main character. He may hate his life, and what he is....But you can literally feel the goodness in him with every word ...more

This book by debut author Jennifer Malone Wright was an interesting read as it seemed to combine all the best and worst of what we love about the paranormal. This book has almost everything: Guardian Angels, Fallen Angels, reformed Vampire, non-reformed Vampires, good Witches, evil Witches, Slayers, Magicians….well, you get the idea. I like the tormented main character, Alex. You don’t often read about a one-hundred year old vampire that believes God still have a plan for him. He tries to do good with his life, but still feels remorse and guilt over the necessities his vampire existence require to sustain him. He misses his human life and family, and is easy to perceive as a gentle soul. Don’t be fooled. Alex can be as vicious as the next vampire when something or someone he cares about is threatened, and when Danielle, Alex’s Guardian Angel, drops a human baby in his life and tells him it’s God’s plan that he raise this child as his own? Well, let’s just say that Alex goes into overdrive to keep her safe, even before he admits that he loves this little girl and soon thereafter her caretaker.

The story is full of various plots from the mystery of baby Jaiden, Alex’s quest to see the sunlight again, to Malcom’s nefarious plans for world domination, and let’s not even go into that evil wife of his. The books is also an add mix of paranormal, romance, and even a bit of graphic scenery thrown in. I wasn’t sure if the author was just trying to find which theme suits her best or if there are too many characters trying to be introduced all at once that it makes it harder to pin down on general theme to stay consistent throughout. For instance: Alex is protective – that has been established. However, when Isabella (quickly becoming one of the most overused names in fiction), Jaiden’s new caretaker for the daylight hours when Alex needs to sleep, encounters a family emergency we see a much darker side to Alex. The fact that Isabella’s younger sister was brutally attacked by three men wasn’t actually that graphic for me. The details of her attack were left more for the reader to imagine than to actually read. Alex’s revenge on them? Details galore including every delicious drop of blood that Alex took from them before they died. And honestly, the entire side plot of the living conditions and plight of Isabella’s siblings was a weird left turn for me that I wasn’t expecting. It seemed a bit out of nowhere. There were moments where the dialogue seemed to come from a different writer as well. At times the language, grammar and overall prose felt more sophisticated than others, and I don’t know if that was just the author trying to give each character a different voice or if even she is maybe a little confused as to where she wants this book to be categorized.

I thought the humor and banter in the book was fun to read, and I also enjoyed some of the teasing and innuendo between characters. I think there was a lot of information crammed into this book in order to whet the appetite more and to establish enough familiarity for future books. Clearly, the story is not over.

Overall I would give this book 3 out of 5 moons, because while I think the potential is there it still needs to work to find it’s groove.

How can you tell this is a great book???? Well, I thoroughly enjoyed it despite not being a huge fan of witches, slayers, fairies and such. I read the original book, 'The Birth of Jaiden.' At the time, I admit that I didn't like it as much as TVHD, but I was still intrigued. The concept of a Christian vampire who still prays to God for forgiveness for what he has done was something new and different that I really liked. I liked the chemistry between Alex and Isabella. I fell in love with Jaiden. Even as a baby, she has a pull about her. Great things are going to happen in the future!

Hea y'all Anne here and I've just finished reading Birth Of Jaiden by Jennifer Malone Wright and here we go. Vampires, Angels, Witches, and Demons OH MY. Yes they are all in the book and they are written with such a grand magnitude that there is no way you can't fall in love with each character no matter if it's a demon or a fallen angel. The story is magnificent and captivating from page one, the main character Alex has some serious inner struggles going on but be that as it may he never looses Hea y'all Anne here and I've just finished reading Birth Of Jaiden by Jennifer Malone Wright and here we go. Vampires, Angels, Witches, and Demons OH MY. Yes they are all in the book and they are written with such a grand magnitude that there is no way you can't fall in love with each character no matter if it's a demon or a fallen angel. The story is magnificent and captivating from page one, the main character Alex has some serious inner struggles going on but be that as it may he never looses his faith in the one thing he now misrepresents. His friend and fallen angel Danielle is always there guiding him, until one night his mission is brought forth into light. Alex is full of scorn and mistrust but can he do what is asked of him by the one he searches for his approval from. All the characters have great back stories and each story is touched on so that your given insight into how and why they are the way they are. If you want love stories there are several happening in this story all at once, if you want a new twist on classic good versus evil it's in this story, and if you want action it's in this story. Every page is jammed with twists and turns plot building information that will keep you flipping pages until the end and believe me it comes all to soon. The concept of this book is fresh and original and the fact that there are tons of paranormal players this is a book anyone can enjoy.
Jennifer Malone Wright has created and original story but beyond that she has beautifully brought not one or two characters to life but at least 10 characters play in the forefront of this book and none are neglected they feed off each other complimenting one another brilliantly. The attachment you'll grow to have for each character will be like be welcomed into a group of friends. The build up to the end is amazing and right when you think that it can't leave you hanging, guess what there's the end and that's how you stay with your mouth hanging open, heart beat racing and eyes bulging. This book was fabulous I've read other work from this author so I knew I would not be disappointed but this was beyond great it was exhilarating and refreshing, a great read for all paranormal lovers. 5 out of 5 stars for Birth Of Jaiden by Jennifer Malone Wright. An element of The Birth of Jaiden that I personally enjoyed was the development of the characters within the novel and the flow of the story. The story was a little choppy at first, however, as the story unfolds, the characters’ backgrounds are revealed in greater detail, leaving you wanting to learn more about them all. Another aspect of the novel I also enjoyed is the alternating character point of views throughout the novel.

My favorite character would have to be Danielle, an earth-bound guardian angel who befriends Alexander. It’s always a pleasure seeing when most of the characters presented in the story played an important role, with few secondary characters; The Birth of Jaiden was no exception.

I would definitely love to read more about Alexander and Isabelle... and I will just leave it at that!

I recommend this novel to those who enjoy Adult Fiction and Fantasy. I definitely look forward to reading more of Jennifer Wright’s work!

When I read about the Birth of Jaiden, I knew that I just hads to read it for two reasons. One being that right now I am throughly enjoying Vampire themed books at the moment, The other was a more personal reason and that was because to of the characters where named after my nieces Jaiden (spelled Jadyn) and Isabella. I know this is a very kooky reason but it's true.

I feel that Jennifer Wright did a surperb job with her first novel and I actually can not wait to read more from her. As I started reading this book I naturally thought that it was going to be the typical vampire love story that that we all have come to know. I was surprised and glade that I was. The main character Alex was a vampire but he wasn't the typical teen vampire but was a adult who had been through life as a mortal and have lived. This to me was refreshing because although I do enjoy the teen vampire love story I always kinda feel sorry for the vampires that have not got out of their teen years. Another aspect of the book that is totality going against the traditional vampire story line ifs that Alex although he is a vampire he belives in God, and that belief in God is what gets him through what he knows he needs to do but he rather not. The one thing that made me fall in love with Alex ( and yes to me he would be the perfect guy, if there was such a thing, and I wouldn't even care that he was a vampire) was the fact that Alex really didn't care about killing and did it out of only neccasity.

That was one ofthe things that I liked about this book and probably the thing that I had most about the Birth Of Jadien that I dislike the most. Because there are sereval scenes that are really graphic when Alex makes his kill. Although at times I could have did without those graphic scences. I relize why Wright put them there. And without them in my opionion ther book would have really been lacking something.

New twists and an amazing book if you consider it is a debut novel. If I were not aware of the fact that this was a debut novel I would have lost a wager on this. The writing is very well paced. It flows very well and the "new" twist on the genre of all things Vampire was great.

I enjoyed this book even if I must admit that for now I am over the vampire twists. That should indicate that this book is really a good read.

The Birth of Jaiden is the debut novel for Jennifer Wright and one that is a really tantalizing read.

I was drawn to the story from the beginning as I found it very interesting how Jennifer combined faith with vampires. We learn that he lost his family through a horrific tragedy, although you don't find out the complete details of what actually happens until towards the end of the book when Alex is finally opening up and re-telling his story and his pain.

Savior is an inspirational story about good vs evil. You are who you choose to be.
I loved each and every character. They were portrayed on the pages in such a real manner that I cared about them as real friends.
Alex suffers a devastating loss and still finds faith to be on the side of good. Of coarse he gets angry and isn't someone I'd want to piss off but his heart is in a good place. He is genuine and I LOVED his character for that.

I really enjoy Jennifer Malone Wright’s series of short stories, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, so I figured that I would try out the Birth of Jaiden, even though it looks very different from the types of books that I normally read. I’m glad that I gave it a try! It was refreshing to read a book with a new, interesting take on vampires. This book wasn’t your typical Twilight knock-off. This is one amazing paranormal read. A vampire asked by God to watch over a baby girl who could bring human's destruction or salvation depending on who raised her. It is a struggle between good and bad that has no real ending in sight. So many wonderful characters capture your heart and make you regret finding out some of their outcomes :( Very action packed, romanticly sweet and full of surprises that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat :D Must read for all of you paranormal fanatics ...more
