The candidate for the high priesthood has been found and now its up to David and his colleagues to find the original temple's treasures. They travel to Masada and Rome to find the missing possessions.
This is a great book, difficult to put down. I was a little dissatisfied with the ending, though. Not with how it ended, but how quickly and neatly things wrapped up, after all the suspense and intrigue earlier in the book, it seemed that the story just ended. Regardless, it wasn't a waste of time, and I liked reading this book.
First off, I couldn't finish this. The story jumped around wildly with a cast of characters too large to keep up with. I felt lost, waiting for the author to open the curtain and make it all come together, but the longer I read the worse it got. Bummer.
This is the second in this series and tells of the search for the primary objects needed for the High Priest of the Jewish Temple. It was a page turner but less of a mystery then The Priest which was the first book. Things went almost to easily this time where the search for the high priest was more complicated. The Characters were still very personable and I came to care how their lives were playing out. I will read anything written by Ellen Gunderson Taylor.
Good light reading. Wish I had read the #1 first, but this books "recaps" as it goes on so you don't have to. That was a bit annoying, but kept you in the loop.
