4 Fabulous Freebie Stars!!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story, and what I initially thought to be an unrealistic plot, turned out to be almost believable! Everything had an explanation. Okay, is it likely this could happen in real life? Maybe, it's a bit over the top, but I've seen stranger things happen. The author did a great job of allowing the reader into the lives of the characters, and giving us what we needed to put the pieces of the puzzle together. There was mystery, suspen

An almost unbelievable story but so compelling that it becomes somehow believable! Okay, maybe I am not making sense here…but let’s take a look at the storyline of this book.

Kate Alexander’s life began when she woke up from a coma a year ago. She remembers nothing before that time.
Her husband is killed in an air crash and her life is turned upside down when she discovers documents and a foto of a small child that looks
Hell to the NO! I didn't sign up for this!

I hated the heroine. She ruined the book. I already tried to put myself in her shoes, yet I couldn’t warm up to her no matter how hard I tried. She was a cold woman. Too cold for my liking.

I didn't enjoy the romance aspect of this one. And unfortunately, even though the plot was compelling, the writing was good, and the suspense part was brilliant, the rest was terrible.

So, nope. Not for me.

This novel started out with the prospect of being a good thriller, however I soon became disappointed when I added up the cliches, repetitions and unbelievable aspects.

The heroine, Kate, does not deeply question her circumstances and we hear little about her life after her air crash or initially about the injury resulting from that. The unsympathetic hero Ryan, and "his" daughter are obnoxious to say the least. Nine years old and as nasty as that already, with no censure from her father? The min

The story was sooo intriguing that I couldn't resist reading this book! Who wouldn't? *wink*

A woman, without memory of her prior life; a man (rich, gorgeous... bla, bla, bla), crazy in love with his dead wife...

What do you think? Who is the woman?

The story is interesting and it should have made a very, very good thriller, but... to me it dragged a little. To much time was spent in inner, Kate's or Ryan's, musing about what is happening and why.

At the beginning, Kate's perplexit

This is a pretty good story. Not my first book by Elisabeth Naughton, I’ve read a book in her other series, but I think I liked this more.

The plot is really good. And, let’s be honest, for a book in this genre, it’s something to say. What's even stranger, I really liked it although I usually do not like the idea of amnesia in my books. They are rarely well-introduced and the cause of amnesia is even less likely to make any sense.

But in this case it is completely different. We meet Kate when her

Really liked this one. First time reading this author. OK, we might have to suspend the disbelief a bit with the storyline but that's what fiction is all about. Loved the main characters, the cheeky 9 year old daughter, even the little we saw of the mother in law. Great secondary characters in the brother and the lawyer. Have never read this author before but the storyline flowed and of course we got our HEA. Not sure what her other stuff is like - is it contemporary? Some of you got it as a Fre ...more

One of these days I'm going to learn that freebies are all too frequently not worth the price. If you can overlook the technical errors such as grammar, improper word usage ("alone" when the word is "along," "sinking suspicion" when the popular phrase is "sneaking suspicion"), and 48 uses of variations of the phrase "eyes slid shut," there's still the matter of a hero who is an angry jerk utterly uninterested in comprehending, much less empathizing with, the agony the heroine must be experiencin ...more

THIS BOOK. This book had me gripped till the very end.

What would you do if you couldn't remember anything in your past? Everything you knew about yourself was gone and all that is an empty mind. What if you had to be told who you were, where you grew up, who your friends and family wer

It's not that this is bad, it's interesting enuf in the sample and I like the premise. But I'm just not in the mood to read about 2 people who are supposed to be together, love of each other's lives and all that, start off right after scenes (for him anyway) of having sex with someone else. I get it, I do, but just not in the mood to read that. ...more

Wow, this book took me by surprise. I don't read a lot of romantic suspense, but it’s been sitting on my kindle forever and I randomly started reading it today and couldn’t put it down. What an amazing story!

I can’t really say much about the storyline, because a big part of this book is the mystery, with twists and turns all over the place, and my inner conspiracy theorist was going crazy! But it’s also a story about family and, of course, there is a beautiful love story, and that was something
I honestly do not undestand why readers gave this book 4 and 5 star ratings. I agree with other low reviews - It started out great and could have been a strong book because of the plot. I truly wanted to love this book, however, it became too rushed and chopped up. This is not a series so it was really disappointing that more time wasn't put into the story as the reader is left with alot of unanswered questions. It was also annoying that the lead female character was in a constant battle of not ...more
This book had a very convoluted plot when it starts of the heroine is in her doctor's office getting her check-up done and wondering about her husband and how it doesn't feel like she is living her life and that her marriage doesn't seem right and then she gets the news the plane her husband was on crashed and he's dead and when people are trying to console her, she just wants them to leave and leave the city. Spoiler-free review. (And there's a lot to spoil.) Wait For Me is so seriously implausible, you might want to think of it as science fiction rather than romantic suspense. (I was, in fact, strongly reminded of a particular episode of "Star Trek: Voyager.") Once the premise is accepted however, it does an excellent job of showing what it might be like if this bizarre event actually happened, with results that had my heart breaking and my hands glued to my ereader. What happened is so awful, and t ...more

Wait for Me was a coincidental read for me, usually I plan every week what I'm going to read, but few days ago I was surfing through Amazon freebies list, and this one in particular caught my eye. Maybe it was the catchy name or the synopsis indicating an a second chance relationship with a little bit of amnesia twist, whatever it was I'm so glad I found this book. BLURB: A woman without a past…

After a tragic accident left her with no memory, Kate Alexander struggled to fit in with a husband and world that didn’t feel right. She’s had no reason to question what friends and family have told her, not until her husband is suddenly killed and she finds a photo of a young girl in his office. A girl who can’t be anyone but a daughter Kate didn’t know she had.

Well the premise of Wait For Me sure had me intrigued and eager to start this latest contemporary romance from Elisabeth Naughton.

How horrifying must it be to awake from a coma, not remembering anything about your past life and having to rely on and believe everything you are being told by someone you trust, someone who claims to be your husband. Kate Alexander finds out one day when her whole world as it’s existed for the past 18 months since she woke up from a coma has been a lie. Bu

Saw this on my timeline, saw all the great reviews, got it for .99.

I'm not putting the synopsis here, as one can read it above. BUT will say it drew me in. Sounded fascinating and right up my alley.

It did keep me clicking through the pages, that's for sure. But I was left with lots of questions. LOTS of them. There are so many plot holes and lost plot threads that I was finally left shaking my head. I'm giving it a three stars because I did read the whole thing and it did keep my wondering abo

Wait for Me is kind of a romance, but more a suspense novel with a touch of romance.

Kate’s husband dies and she’s picking up the pieces after his death. She opens a locked drawer in his office and realizes he isn’t the man she married.

Ryan lost his wife five years ago and he has never fully recovered from her death. Five years later, Ryan is a successful business man and is raising his nine-year old daughter. He also meets a woman, named Kate who claims

★★★★½ Loved this one. Near perfection for me, especially with my amnesia obsession. LOL!

I did do the Whispersync combo of Kindle and audio and enjoyed the narrator, too.

Great spontaneous “buddy read,” too. Thanks for twisting my arm, ShoSho. LOL!
"I just realised life is precious. That you gotta go after the things youb want, because they might not be there when you finally pull your head out of your ass and realise they're important."

This is one of those times where I thank the lucky stars that something like amazon freebies exists. Because if this didn't pop up on my radar as a freebie I probably never would have picked it up. This entire story blew me out of the water with its tragedy, its honesty and its emphasis on second chances.

Yay! Finally a good book to end my dryspell of not-so-good books.

Can I just start by saying...I really loved this book!!

Kate Alexander was involved in a car accident and has lost her memory. She can't remember her past, which includes her husband Jake and her son Reed. She finds herself feeling like she's living the life of a stranger. She can't remember anything from her past so she depends on what others have to tell her.
One day that all changes. Her husband is a passenger on a flight that c
Absolutely loved this book, although it did remind me of a Lifetime movie I saw a while back. I loved all the characters in this book and they were well developed and I definitely felt emotionally invested in their story (should've had tissue around during some parts of the book). I was happy that Ryan and Kate got their HEA, I just wish the author would've ended the book with the entire family sharing in their happiness. ...more
