DNF @ 26%. To say this one wasn’t for me would be a freakishly large understatement.
I picked this one up because I loved the other book I’ve read by this author, The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, and thought I’d give this one a shot. Unfortunately it just didn’t work for me. Basically it’s a girl gets dumped by boyfriend, returns home for the summer, hooks up with ex’s younger but still white hot little brother then books it back to college before any of the messy, hooking up details can be discuss ...more

I always, always, enjoy reading Alyssa Rose Ivy's books. And I really liked The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, so I was looking forward to reading this one. I did enjoy it, but I think a few minor changes would have made it a bit stronger.
What didn't work for me: I didn't dislike Mallory, but I didn't love her either. I felt like her reasons for denying her feelings for Colt were kind of lame. I would have liked to have seen less of an issue about him being a school year younger and more focus on t ...more

Risks of Mallory’s one night stand with Colton:
*losing her heart to the boy who has had it for quite some time
*opening her heart up again after it was crushed
*relying on more than herself for her happiness
For anyone, these dangers are daunting, and for Mallory, they are too much for her to handle, so what does she do? She pushes Colton away, dates another guy, and pretends that her feelings for Colton are not as strong as there are ...more

Full Review on Brianna's Bookish Confessions.
Nick is very wealthy and doesn’t do the dating thing. He’s what many would call a man-whore. Scotty is a college graduate who happens to be one of his students. Little does he know how she really is outside the classroom. She’s a broken woman who had a rough childhood. She was tossed around in foster care, ...more

There were a lot of things that I, unfortunately, did not enjoy about the story.
The big problem for me was the MC. She didn't read as likable. She seemed very bitchy, immature, judgmental and very concerned with what others thought. Throughout the book this was consistent, almost to the very end. The author, in the last few chapters, I think(?) tried to redeem her or show that she grew in some way. By then it took too long happen, and didn't feel organic in the way it came about or at all since ...more

Mallory may be home for the summer but it’s quickly coming to an end when she will be returning back to college and a life away from the small town. When she runs into her ex-‘s little brother at a party things are anything but simple as the night ends rolling in the hay. While he may have read more into it Mallory isn’t willing to get trapped with a small town guy she has plans for the future so she leaves town avoiding Colton. Thinking she’s left him behind because he will head off to another

I liked this book, I liked Colton but he doesn't hold a candle to Reed, who in this series I love. I loved how Colton was a cheeky bast**r, "what am I doing? You're the one telling me you might be getting close to me tonight." His hand slid down slightly, settling below my hip. His touch felt so good." Colton good lord nothing phases that boy, "you thought I had a small di**?" He has no qualms about his nakedness, "I need to go." I pressed against him, and this time he didn't resist. I slipped o

This was a really good story. The growth the heroine showed from the beginning to the end of the book was well paced and well done. The only thing I would have wanted changed was for the ending to not have been so rushed--at least it felt rushed to me. 4 stars for me

I don’t know why but I kept on slipping in and out of the story (took me days to finish reading). Mal and Colt’s story is meh compare to Reed/Juliet’s. Shame, really, such a shame.

The Hazards of a One Night Stand is the second book in the Hazards Series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. These books do not have to be read in order as they are standalones, I had no problems while reading this book even though I hadn't read the first one in the series. This is the second book that I have now read by Alyssa Rose Ivy, and I am really enjoying everything that I read by her. She is a great writer, the stories are entertaining and engaging, ...more

After reading and loving The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, I was thrilled when I saw Alyssa was writing another novel in the series. I really enjoyed her fun writing style, as well as the fact that I felt like I was right on campus with the characters as they are navigate their way through school, relationships, and sorority life. The Hazards of a One Night Stand is a companion novel to The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, which I loved. I had no idea this was going to be a series, so I was ecstatic when I found out! This book follows one of Juliet’s best friends and sorority sister, Mallory. But though I did enjoy reading this, it didn’t come close to how much I loved the first book.

The Hazards of a One Night Stands is the second book in the Hazards series and it focuses on the love story of another one of the Delta Mu sisters- Mallory. Juliet is still one of the main characters in the story thought, and I really loved that we got to see more of her and Reed. Juliet is such an awesome friend to Mallory, even when Mallory was being kind of Moody. In fact, when Mallory started to annoy me, it was Juliet's faith in her that she was normally not petty like this that told me not

Initial Thoughts: There was a good development of characters and story. I found myself laughing and cringing and enjoying the book. It was a fun and quick read and a bit predictable at some points, but it was fine because that just added to the overall aura of the book!

Sadly, The Hazards of a One Night Stand did not work for me. This time we're following Juliet's sorority sister, Mallory. She's back in her home town for the summer, and on her last night she hooks up with Colton. She use to date his brother but also had a crush on him. Mallory figures this is a one time thing, but then Colton starts at the same college as her and is pledging at the fraternity linked with her sorority. He expects to continue what they started, but Mallory is determined to resist

Alyssa Rose Ivy has done it again. The Hazards of a One Night Stand is the second book in her Hazards series and I’ve got to say I absolutely loved it. While I will never love anyone as much as I love Reed, who makes several appearances in this new book, I really did enjoy Colton’s character.

I really enjoyed The Hazards of a One Night Stand by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I picked the book up on the recommendation of a good friend and I am so glad I did. It was a sweet romance with a bit of heat and some absolutely funny scenes that left me laughing long after the scene was over.

Mallory is home for the summer after spending her freshman year away from college. She couldn't wait to get out of the small town she lived in, and even hated having to come back for the summer months. When she runs into her ex-boyfriend's younger brother, Colton, who she has secretly had a crush on for years, what begins as two friends getting reacquainted winds up as a hot, passion-filled roll in the hay. When it's all said and done, Mallory wants to make it a one night stand, but Colton has

I knew I wasn't going to like this book after the first 20 pages or so. But considering I paid for it I decided to keep on reading - what a complete waste of perfectly good reading time. The Hazards of a One Night Stand was - in one word - terrible!
It is badly written, the characters are flat and stupid and the story cannot even be called a stereotyp anymore. It was pure torture. I was shaking my head, rolling my eyes and laughing about the absurd way it all played out. ...more

The Hazards of a One Night Stand is another home run for author Alyssa Rose Ivy. Seriously, I do not know how she keeps doing it, but she sucks me into the story every time. The Hazards of a One Night Stand is the second book in the Hazards series, but it reads like a standalone book. A book that starts out with a one night stand in a hayloft with a boy named Colt, how could that not lead to an interesting story. I love Mallory’s story of coming into her own, and discovering that what your heart

When I saw this was by Alyssa Rose Ivy I knew I had to read it. I love her writing style especially when it comes to romance and this book is no exception. I loved the way the story was executed and the pacing was perfect. I easily and quickly devoured this book.
