REVIEW: A quick, easy to read, clean romance. Apparently this is a spin-off of other books from The Jewel series. I haven't read any of them but this book did fine as a stand alone. Feel like this could have been developed into a full length novel with additions to the plot line but as a novella it was good.
FAVORITE QUOTES: "What could be more comforting than to know that you're in the place where God would have you right at the perfect time. I would --and do--find extreme comfort in that notion."
Christmas Diamond is a short, but very sweet peek back into the Viscolli family. We get to follow TJ, son of Tony and Robin, and see if he gets his happily ever after with a woman named Faith. He meets her in an unexpected way on the beach. I won’t say more, but I recommend that fans of Hallee Bridgeman’s Jewel series pick up this novella for free on Kindle or Nook, as well as at other ebook retailers. It is definitely not necessary to have read the Jewel Series in order to understand what is going on in this book. Christmas Diamond is also a creative introduction to an upcoming series that Hallee Bridgeman is working on, The Virtues and Valor Series. I am excited to read those upcoming books!
I haved loved every book in the Jewel series so far and this one is no different. I enjoyed meeting Tony and Robin's son as I did all the characters in each book. You don't have to read the other books to appreciate this one but you'll be missing out on some great stories if you don't. Anyway this was a sweet Christian Christmas time love story that had a part inspired by an actual event. That was interesting. Also, I thought it was a great way to introduce the Virtue and Valore series which I am looking forward to reading as well. I definitely recommend this novella and the other books in this series too.
This short Christmas story is about a British pilot coming to America for an airplane show. She trips as she is walking on the beach. What she trips on is a man who is water logged and she rescues him by reviving him. They fall in love. Cute story
Title: Christmas Diamond Author: Hallee Bridgeman Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 5 Genre: Holiday/Christmas, Romance Series: The Jewel Review:
"Christmas Diamond" by Hallee Bridgeman was one of this author's Jewel Trilogy series. This was a quick read that was truly amazing and wonderful Christmas read with a 'blend of suspense and romance.' Be prepared for a bit of history and seeing another generation from the series in this short novella.. I really like the portrayal of this business world presenting such good Christian people.
From the story we find "TJ Viscolli is from a wealthy Italian family, Faith Green is a pilot for vintage aircraft, her grandmother flew with the original female pilots in the war." With TJ studies of history being his specialty it wasn't a big surprise that he was happy to find the granddaughter who was one of the original pilots in his father's hotel here in Key West, Florida. So, it wasn't a big surprise how these two would hook up. As a matter of fact Faith had saved TJ's life. What had happen? Now, I don't want to give to much away so it is here that I will say you must pick up "Christmas Diamond" to see how this author will present it all to the reader. The characters are all very well developed and likable only helping make this such a wonderful awesome read.

This is my first glimpse into Hallee's writing and I am HOOKED! Christmas Diamond is everything a Christmas story should be. Romantic, cute, a side of adventure and pure heart from the author. There's nothing "cookie-cutter" about it and I LOVE that! I cannot wait to read more from Hallee.
I have read the Jewel Trilogy excellent books. See some people bought into this story from the Jewel Trilogy. Nice to see another generation in the book. If you loved the other series you will love this Christmas Story.
Good, clean novella. I didn't connect as much with the main characters in this novella as I have in her other books, but I still enjoyed the book and getting to catch up with the Jewel Series family.
Christmas Diamond by Hallee Bridgemann This book starts out with dedication page to the readers. Table of contents and listing of what's in Jewel series. Story begins with Faith and she's in FL, all the way from England where she lives nearby her Grandmum. She's in a nursing home so Faith can continue her flying. In FL she's to be part of a flying team that the team has flown before. She is walking along the beach when she notices children swimming in their pool and she stumbles over a body. She starts mouth to mouth on him til he is breathing on his own. His family members meet TJ there and take him to the hospital. She learns a bit more about the family and who TJ is. At an evening’s party she is introduced to him and she sits at the family table. They are the ones hosting the dinner and the whole flying show in the next days. Love how the team perform, one of their best but there is an airplane accident. Like how this one goes, the women involved in the war overseas and how the wings are handed down from generation to generation. Great ending. There is a LOT of history in this story. Translation phrases are explained. Inspired by real events of Virtues and Valor, Luncheon menu is included, with recipes. Discussion questions are included. Personal note from the author. More jewel series synopsized at the end. Excerpt from Christmas Star Sapphire is included. Author links and her works are listed at the end. Song of suspense are listed and summarized. Spending Christmas on the Florida Keys is different, and pilot Faith Green is surprised to find that she misses London's cold rain as she bakes on the sand. She is here to fly a vintage plane in an air show, honoring the skillful piloting her Grandmother did during WWII with the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in England.
After literally tripping over a man washed up on the beach, and reviving him from his near-fatal windsurfing accident, she discovers that not only has his father sponsored the air show, but he knows a great deal about her Grandmother's exploits and missions. Turns out, he is a scholar of the mission.
That leads her to wonder if his interest in her is really to get to her aging grandmother. Only later will she discover that his family is so rich and prominent that outsiders will assume that is the source of her interest in him. Now they just need to convince each other, and themselves, that their mutual attraction is genuine.
2.5 stars This short story was fun because it tied in with the Virtues and Valor series that I really enjoyed. The parts about the plane and history were interesting. I wasn’t as interested in the romance. Thankfully, however, the romance was kept clean except for a couple kisses. For some reason the story didn’t give me a Christmasy feeling like most Christmas books do that I read. So, even though this is set at Christmas time in Florida, I think I wouldn’t have minded reading it some other time during the year.
There were a few mentions of prayer. Overall, I enjoyed it for the most part, but it wasn’t a favorite.
An ok Novella. Not my favorite. A love story about a British pilot and a rich Italian. I think the author tried too hard to use British colloquialisms. As someone who lived there for 17 years and is married to a Brit they just stuck out. Also not very Christmasy in nature although it's set Christmas week. Sorry to be so hard just wish it was a little more fun for a Christmas read. Maybe you will like it though.
A short and sweet novella, “Christmas Diamond” was a delight to read! The Christian message is woven through the action, danger and romance of this book that is set during the Christmas holiday season. Christian romance readers will enjoy this story!
I loved that this book spins from both the Jewel and Virtues series. I actually stopped mid book to finish the virtues series. That was one solid binge. Lol. I absolutely adore watching these characters grow.
This is a cute story and a pretty quick read. Perfect for an afternoon that is just searching for a clean and inspirational read. I look forward to more from this author.
Quick romantic read. Since it's a novella, the romance goes a little fast, but let's be real: no faster than any good Halmark Christmas movie. Fun for the Christmas season.
