I listened to this story on c.d.
It was a wonderful sound recording with a large cast and sound effects galore. It was more like a radio show.
This is a science fiction story where the world is in small disjointed communities, if you can call them that. Bunches of survivors might be more true. As far as I could tell the main characters travel through tunnels so they don't have to breath fumes or be picked off by weird scavengers.
One group of survivors holed up in the rock face of Mt Rushmore before the great event ever happened. The main characters are forced by a madman leader of the nearby community to attack the well fortified bunker.
I enjoyed it to the extent that I checked another one out from the library. Maybe I'll know more about it--I started out in the 30's. Unfortunately, the library series are only the higher numbers.

This is the first book in the series written by another writer than Laurence James. I was first a bit anxious who the adventures of Ryan and Company would continue and if the could uphold the style. They did. In fact, it was the most entertaining and fresh read since several books in the series. Let's hope it stays that way.

Takes place inside Mt. Rushmore.

An average apocalyptic adventure story. This one takes a century after the last war and now there are mutants running around the earth. Recommended
