This is not nearly as good as Yo, Millard Fillmore! in my opinion. I read both a lot when I was a kid. Most of Yo, Millard Fillmore! stuck with me through adulthood, but not much of this one did. It's still a great technique, and it's still helpful, but Yo, Millard Fillmore! did it a little better.

This is an outdated edition. Not nearly as bad as outdated editions of Yo, Millard Fillmore! because the states and capitals have not changed much. Some small facts are incorrect now, though. Like for Illinois, it said that the Sears Tower is the tallest building in the world. It's not even the tallest building in the US anymore and it's now officially named the Willis Tower (not that anyone calls it that). I'd recommend picking up an updated version if you want the facts pages to be accurate.

Yo, Sacramento! is an informational book for grades 4-5. This book is made to help kids learn the capitals of every state. It gives funny sentences which contain words that sound like the state and the capital when they are run together. I like how this book also gave facts about important thing in history that happened in each state.

Great book. Must read. My 3, 4, and 6 year-olds are all learning them at various pace and it truly sticks. Worth the investment to help them remember for the long haul... though in the most interesting method :-)

i absolutely loved this book. It was a fun and creative way to help students learn and understand the states and their capitols. The artwork is both very funny and looks like it was done by a professional cartoonist which is always a bonus in my book. As for the content of the book, I thought it was very well done. The states are divided into easily remembered region and there is a brief history/fun-fact about each state on the page before the page where the core of this book really lies. I love the word games this book uses to teach children the state capitols they are very creative and are well thought out. I also liked how, at the end of each section, there was a small quiz to remind you of what you learned while reading the book. I would recommend this fun little book to anyone looking for a small laugh. If I had to knock the book for anything though it would be that some of the word games are a bit of a stretch...

A VERY funny book and a strategical way to learn your capitals and regions! I liked it because if you didn't understand what it meant it told you in the bottom. It also gave history on the state. My favorite capital was Concord, NH: A NUDE HAMSTER RIDING "CONCORDE" (New Hampshire-Nude Hamster; Concorde-Concord)

I remember reading this book when i was in fifth grade and it really helped me learn my state capitals for school. This would be a really good book for children that age so they can better remember the state capitals. It was very creative and the pictures went well with the little sayings.
