Weeding my library...book #12, I think. Why do I have so many gardening books?
I’ve had this book a long time, I know because my past self highlighted some of the plants I remember planting when I was first learning to garden.
I light the lists in the beginning of this book, which note things like perennials for shade or low water. About a third of the book is general information, and the rest of the book are profiles of various perennials, with two-page sidebars profiling ornamental grasses, herbs and mild winter species. There are color photos throughout, but not all of the plants have photos (maybe a quarter don’t have a photo). There’s not much design, either. The text just runs through three columns. So as a plant reference, there are stronger books.
Verdict: I may change my mind as I review my other garden books, but for now I’ll keep this.
