Máire's writing is so descriptive, I felt like I was back in Galway and Ireland... And then in a little coastal village in Japan, and then Berlin. It was really special, to be transported to all these places through words. Each story is vivid and emotive in its own way, and all deserve 5 stars!

Máire was born in Dublin City at the tender age of zero. Since then, she's been trying to convince the world at large that her name isn’t Marie.

Máire is the author of novel Skin Paper Stone (New Island, 2015) and short story chapbook Your Mixtape Unravels My Heart (Doire Press, 2013).
“Sometimes we'd sit on that bench for hours, talking about nothing much and blowing smoke rings into the air, and we'd see them teetering past, stumble-drunk after closing time with their brown paper bags and late night vinegar running down their arms and the lack of kindness everywhere. And the girls, panda-eyed and lonely, hitching their bravado to their short skirts, were telling themselves that this was living. We said we would never be them. But there was one boy who had kind eyes. His hair was the colour of the sand and his smile promised everything. I told you he wasn't like the rest, but you didn't want to hear it.” 1 likes
