I am still a little ambivalent about the Belly Fat Breakthrough. Half of me was very interested in the book, it has very up to date content on different studies on the subject. The other half of me was a little annoyed because Stephen Boutcher mentions all this discrepancies on different studies, and new and more informed ways on dealing with Belly Fat according to difference in genes and so on and so forth, and then the book goes back to the present the information of the old studies. Belly Fat Breakthrough is not a bad book. It provides a number of small studies that show the effect of reducing belly fat through exercise. Stephen Boutcher does a nice job of presenting the studies, how they are conducted and what the results are. The problem I have is the overstating of what their recommended exercise program can do for the general population rather than the population studied. Their sample size is simply too small to generalize to the main population. But if you fit into one

The book is well-researched and provides you with the lots of information about belly fat. It first introduced to you the causes of belly fat, different types of belly fat, and the health risks of having too much belly fat. Then it later talks about different thing you can do to decrease or get rid of the belly fat, providing different techniques on diet and exercise. It's a good book. Quite straight to the point.

This is a very comprehensive and well-researched book that goes into detail about everything that will help with weight loss: exercise, diet, sleep, and stress reduction.
While I would have liked to see more meal plans and recipes, it only has a few, I feel that the information is very helpful and is definitely a book worth reading.

I approach all diet books with caution. I am more than highly suspicious of anything that promises to work within six weeks, yet here it is. Chapters include 'The Interval Sprinting Belly Fat Loss Prigramme' and 'A Six Week Belly fat Loss Programme', especially when it immediately says it's following the Mediterranean Diet and includes a hefty exercise programme of intensive exercise.

Well researched and written exercise and weight loss book. I enjoyed reading the book - it is very informative and educational but not dry in tone. I found the exercise information, especially about the high intensity interval training to be interesting and useful. I work out a lot, and I've started using some of the techniques presented in the book. They seem to be working.

Belly Fat is something that I think every women is either concerned of or aware of. This book contains several medical facts about belly fat, its causes, and the best way to target belly fat. I am a big believer that "targeting" a certain area when working out or dieting doesn't really work. However this book isn't just about belly fat but over all health. This book does give some good advice on which type of exe ...more

very basic, somewhat dated, doesn't address to some of the key people who could benefit from the plan ie people with mobility limitations. sounds like a sales pitch most of the time tho I appreciated that he didn't go the route of anecdotal stories like so many self help books do. geared for people who are really at the beginning of health challenges and younger people. limited access to info unless you buy the book or CD as is constantly referring to other sources.

This book wasn't that helpful however it did give some tips that I tried to incorporate in my life. The author talked about some helpful things to do to replace certain types of foods that weren't as healthy with healthier choices. Sometimes I found myself putting the book down and picking it up days later.

Okay, it's a diet book. I wish that I could point out something that I've not seen or heard elsewhere, because it all sounds legit, scientific, and logical. Why am I sitting around reading when I need to get off the couch?

I didn't think the book was that great. Hard to read, so I ended up skimming lots. It's basically a book about interval training and cites a lot of research of where belly fat comes from.
