This series remains one of the more diverse mangas I’ve read. I’m really interested in the Hunters! I also want to know why everyone is so mean to Rochelle? She’s so sweet and nobody but the Hunter teacher is kind to her.

Now, I'm starting to see how things are connected and why I should care about some of these characters. For one thing, I finally figured out that some of the characters that I thought were the same character aren't. That helped a lot with understanding what was going on. I like the diversity the author shows in her character designs, but there were a couple that were very similar. As for the story, this book spent more time explaining things, but it also had quite a bit of action. The first scenes are fairly violent, but nothing I would hesitate to hand a teen. There is a communal bathing scene, but nothing is shown. Most of the curses are bleeped out, but there are a few minor ones left visible. I'm a bit confused about how the Hunters can blame Alex when they know something else is giving her power and protection. I'm also a bit confused about how certain people remember Sarah. I can understand Alex remembering because of blood ties, but how do the other two remember? I'm definitely eager to read the next one.

The Hunters are nearly killed and Alex finds someone else who remembers her missing sister.

This series continues to grow and become more complex and I'm loving the character growth. I see that there's only one more volume though which is concerning - I don't see how the author can wrap everything up that quickly and I definitely want more stories with this group.

Svetlana Chmakova is an OEL (Original English Language) manga creator that I have been aware of and reading since she started publishing her comics online through Wirepop and Girlamatic. I loved both Chasing Rainbows, a story about a girl whose future is foretold, and Nightsilver, a story about a young witch. Unfortunately both stories have been on hiatus for years now since Svet had to turn her attention to publishing her first professional manga series, Dramacon.

Three volumes in, the cast is really beginning to gel. Before I wasn't sure why I was expected to care about the huge cast of characters; now I'm really interested in seeing what happens when Alex finally meets up with the hunters again. Chmakova's art continues to be a treat.

The wait between volumes is becoming killer--I think I will have to track down the magazines at the library.

Only one book to go, right?? Can she really wrap everything up in just one more book?? I'm on the edge of my seat!

Svetlana Chmakova is one of my favorite middle grade graphic novelists, and when I saw she had a YA series also, I jumped on it.
NIghtschool is a quadrilogy revolving around a school that hosts normal high school classes and students during the day, but at night, the classes and students are very different, and not a little dangerous. The third volume puts a lot of attention on the Hunters, who have been betrayed by another human, resulting in a werewolf attack at the Hunter hideaway. Alex, meanwhile is now being trained by Mr. Roi in advanced techniques.
Nightschool Vol 3 is a satisfying follow up to volume 2, and I look forward to reading the remainder of the series.

While trying to figure out a way to save their members from the mysterious attack in the cemetery, the Hunters are forced to defend their safe house from a surprise attack by werewolves. Trying to get the answers they need will have to wait but they’re not the only ones with questions. Alex is still looking for her sister when she finds someone who remembers her and the realization that there’s more who are missing increase the mysteries for the Night School.

I liked this volume a lot more than the previous. I think the adults were handling their roles more appropriately and I think this also had much needed world building. Definitely interested to see where it goes.

Oof. I'm not sure if I have words beyond that right now, other than the fact that we're finally starting to see how the A-plot and the B-plot intertwine, and I love that, I'm living for it. Just... OOF.

Well no, okay, I do have one other thing to say, and that's that I'm disappointed this wasn't contracted for more volumes than just the four it got. It feels like the ending is going to have to be a bit rushed by the time I read the fourth book, and I'm not sure if it will cohesively work or tie everything together, which I'm worried about.

Yeah, this was awesome.

No and-if-or-buts about it. Just plain great fun.

Teacher is like totally freaking awesome. No idea what his name is, but his stoicism and loyalty and coolheadedness combine for total awesomeness. He is similar to blade only more stoic. I like. A lot.

I am more and more curious as to how hunters are different from humans. Do they arise out of the human population? Can the different races interbreed? What happens when they do? Do we get cute little halfsies!?!?!?

Enjoying the series, great story, cool characters. But the story is feeling rushed in this book, and too many of the drawings are unclear - sometimes I can't tell who the character is, others, what the action is. Especially liked the end notes here, with the translations and the fan art. I wish this story were more fleshed out, with a bit more definition of new characters...

The third book reveals a traitor to the hunter group and a teacher willing to help Alex with her training. He tries to kill one of the students in the infirmary. Alex meets a woman who says she knew her sister. There's a use of blood magic to scry, some kind of infection, and some kind of escaped creature.

Um, still a little unclear. This one confused me more because I find the artwork between the two plot lines overlaps and I get the characters mixed up. I hope that's not intentional, but I also kind of hope it is. Reading book 4 hopefully later tonight.

I feel like I've been thrown into this world with no backstory and while I'm still enjoying it, I think I could have enjoyed more if some things were explained.

There's so many dropped threads that could be picked up for further plot points, but they're just not utilized. I do really like the glimpses of politics and the fight scenes.

The style of the graphics were good but not amazing. The storyline was decent. I would read another series by this author. I love graphic novels.
