Provides hundreds of activities, ideas, problem-solving techniques and exceptional insights for parents to encourage children to reach their full potential.
This book is full of learning activities and games for toddlers and preschoolers that take little or no preparation or materials. If the ideas do require materials they are generally regular household items. I am always grateful for things that I can add to my "little bag of tricks."
The writing itself is a bit obvious in the sense that, if a person is reading this book, they probably already know or believe many of the concepts taught. The activities presented make it worth reading though.
While the book was a bit of preaching to the choir, it contains tons and tons of great ideas and inspiration for the involved parent. It is worthwhile, even if you only want to skim it. I read a hardback edition that contained both the original and the newer "More Parents are Teachers Too", which goes into ideas for older children (which I did skim some since I still have a few years).
I found this book at a thrift store and thought it looked interesting. It's a good resource for parents of young children who are wanting simple ideas and suggestions on how to help them learn and develop.
