I've really enjoyed this series as a whole. Tessa's growth as she's gone from the "freak" to someone who can do things the other vampires can't has been fun to watch. Her deepening relationship with Cody (and the consternation THAT brings to her father) has been enjoyable. Their ability to mindspeak to one another has gotten them out of a few tough situations and I can only guess that things are going to get worse in the next (and final) book. These vampires are going to need all the help they can get and a couple who can mindspeak gives them a huge advantage.
Now, there were several questions raised here that make me worry a bit for Tessa's family. The corruption in the vampire world goes deep and it's unclear who can be trusted at this point. Tessa's mom has family members who seem less than honorable on the surface. There are council members who *look* like they're on their side but they could easily be working with the blood farm vamps.
It's very tangled and the good guys are going to have a time of it as they sort out (while in the midst of battle) who's working for who.
For those wondering, yes, this book ends on a cliffhanger. Tessa is in danger and things look bad. But she has a family willing to go to great lengths to save her and I have no doubt she'll claw her way out of this mess with minimal damage.
I'm excited to see how this all ends in the next book. How deep is the corruption and will Tessa's family make it out unscathed? We'll have to wait and see.
Even though I’ve reread this series so many times, it never gets old – there is so much action and so many POVs.
I really liked continuing with the story.
Cody is missing at the beginning of this book, and the others are trying to find him. Rhia has gone to Councilman Adamson and Gloria to get help for what they are dealing with, and they plan to investigate the documents they have. Jared is with Taz at the blood farm, but
I don’t think there are any characters that I don’t like in this book, and I really like their interactions.
I really liked this book, and I can’t wait to continue.
I enjoyed the first book, hooked by the second one. Disgruntled by the end of the third. However, I can't even finish the fourth. They are all the same! The story never moves on! I'm bored! There is so much potential here, but goes nowhere. Too bad.
At the end of the last book, Jared finds his father among the humans in the blood farm, he knows at this point his Uncle and Aunt are behind everything. He was definitely sold to these vampires, just like his father.
After a major battle, Tessa discovers Cody has been taken. Now they have to find him.Tessa and her family and friends seem to have opened a hornets nest of enhanced vampires, battle rage throughout this book. Most disturbing are the council links to the blood farm. So many connections make things so much more difficult.
Jared is with Taz when the lights go out in their section of the blood farm, that's totally not good.
Tessa is finally able to hear Cody in her mind, and finds they are in the same area, having survived some serious battles.
Now regardless of the attraction and the mind speak between Cody and Tessa there is much going on.
The Human council is almost as useless as the Vampire one, talk, talk, talk, no action. Of course that's gonna have to change.
More insight into the contents of the computer Serus hid with Rhia, so many questions and not a whole lot of answers.
However there is much more to this, and the heartbreak it causes not only Rhia because of Seth, but also Goran and Cody as they begin to understand the depths of the project Tyson, Goran's eldest son is involved in.
I love the way the suspense builds with plenty of action even as the romance between Cody and Tessa takes hold. Of course there is the requisite cliffhanger.
It's okay though, I bought the collections and it is a completed series.
I love these books because the prologue is always the last chapter of the last book. I feel like the author is a mad genius for being able to make the same situation over and over again actually work. Each time is something slightly different and let it be a lesson to us all. Never under any circumstances get separated and say no to drugs. You might wind up like Tessa and the gang...
This entire book I was wondering who was the deceitful person. I knew that in the end of the book someone in the group would feel betrayed but, I did not realize that it would be to people! I have to say the author did throw me off my game. And I loved it!
Each book in this series is like popcorn - you can't stop eating it. Good writer, nice dilemma in the story which keeps you reading. If you don't like cliffhangers don't start on them.
ANOTHER GREAT BOOK IN DALE MAYER SERIES..I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE REST READ... YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS SET.. I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND HERE IS MY HONEST OPINION Tessa , family and friends are it fight for their lives, Cody is missing, as this story begins. The Bad vampires and humans have done something to the mountain, Tessa's group doesn't know what or when it will happen. But they can't leave because they must find the others they came with and hopefully the bosses. The Vampire and Human bosses doing this must be found to stop them for good this time. Of course the fathers (ancients) were trying the girls home while the men (some only a few years older then the youngest girl, Tessa) while they would stay to fight, search and try to save everyone till they got to safety. But 16 year old Tessa and her big brothers girlfriend Jewel were having none of that,We all leave together. Now there will be so many twist and turn while they are in the blood farm inside the mountain. Finding and losing people, the boss is determined to get them all, but they don't know who or why. At this point neither to you, for once I haven't guess right yet. And Tessa mother Rhia and Taz wife Sian arw trying to decide who they can trust in both the Human and Vampires to get help together to raid the places they have found people and supplies the blood farms and try to get help for their families.Have they chose right? Is there a spy in the group they choose, Rhia and Sian wonder. I can't wait for it to continue.
By now, you’d think the vampires of this world would have learned to handle their “gasp reflex.” But no. Every page feels like an Olympic gasp-a-thon. Characters gasp so often I’m convinced they’ve replaced breathing entirely. I started to consider tracking them, but I worried I’d run out of pages.
Tessa, is still mentally commanding her vampire heritage to work, because apparently, just being a vampire isn’t enough. Need energy? Yell at your genes. Need speed? Argue with your DNA! By book four, I was mentally commanding the author to move on.
And speaking of moving on, Cody and Tessa FINALLY kiss. After three books of simmering “will they, won’t they” (spoiler: they will), it happens! But not before we’re reminded for the fourth time that Tessa is “too young”… despite being one year younger than Cody. ONE. YEAR. At this point, the drama surrounding their age difference is more of a vampire drain than the bloodsucking.
Oh, and those pesky ages? Don’t bother keeping track. Every book in this series seems to throw darts at a calendar to decide how old everyone is. Consistency isn’t a vampire’s strong suit, apparently.
The book wraps up, mercifully without another kidnapping, but of course, we can’t escape a dramatic unconsciousness cliffhanger. Because what’s more thrilling than watching your favorite characters… sleep it off?
Vampire in Deceit By Dale Mayer Family Blood Ties Series Book Four Tessa, Cody and their friends and family continue their battles within the mountain walls. Jared has a new battle that brings him back to the mountain, to the blood farm. He must battle his fear of this place to face his discovery. Others down the mountain fight their own battles. To shut down this horrific blood farm and do it while not knowing who they can trust.
Turning to the humans for help seemed better than weeding through the vampires. It may be a decision that comes back to bite them in the butt. Another adventure packed trip through the white tile halls in the mountain to battle the never ending enemy, or so it seems. And just when it seems it can’t get worse...it does.
This series ends with cliffhangers. I do advise reading this as a series. The stories are definitely connected and the adventure continues from one book to the next. I love the way the author lets the reader see what’s happening from so many different point of views. Great stories that pull the reader in and wanting to read the next story as soon as finishing the previous one. **Language http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
With Cody missing this time, the group and their new allies have to fight the enemies and find Cody as well. Seth and his friends are still 'missing' but personally I think he's one of the bad guys. Jared learns secrets that no one would ever want to learn about their family but he does create a friendship with Taz. When the vampire group finally kill the bad guys and work their way to meet the medical team, something goes wrong and those that were allies were actually the enemy. This book you also meet the bosses, the young one I will say will surprise you. He is someone we haven't met yet as a character but someone we've heard of. This was a huge shock to me. Now that Moltere's mountain is crumbling, will the team make it out alive or die under the rubble. Can't wait to read the next book in this series!
This story just keeps getting more interesting as it goes on. You never know what is going to happen and who is going to end up the bad guy. I have enjoyed watching the characters grow with each consecutive story. The banter between the "Old Guys" and the "Young uns" is extremely amusing and the respect between the two different groups grows as the battles continue. There are several different twist and turns in this segment and one of the bad guys revealed is not who I was expecting. I still think my guess is right and another blow is about to be dealt to our fearless heroes. Unfortunately we get another cliffhanger and are left guessing what will happen next. I just love the mind of Dale Mayer and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Another nail biter! Every time I think that it's going the "rescuers" way BOOM something happens to throw everything off kilter again! I've learned to expect the unexpected but even so I was really surprised by this one.
I love that Tessa, Cody, and Jared all continue to grow in this story. All of them are capable of so much more than they know. I also like that Rhia is once again playing a bigger role instead of being side-lined.
I'm getting just as creeped out by the farm as they are. When does it end? I can imagine myself in there with the tunnels, the white tiled walls, the huge caverns...but I don't really want to imagine myself there. At all. LOL
Again a great read...I can't wait to see what happens next!
This book takes over where book 3 left off and is pretty much the same as 1, 2, & 3. Still stuck in the mountain, still getting stuck and rescued, etc. The story did progress a wee bit further...we got rid of 1 of the head guys.
Of course, this ends in a cliff hanger like all the rest. Multi pov. The story itself is good but is taking forever. I am ready for this story line to be over and them to move on to new problems.
Must be read in order and can not be read as a stand alone.
What an amazing book. Another hit for Ms. Mayer. I would so love to see this series on the big screen. Now for the next in the series. Thank you Dale Mayer for a great book.
Tessa has been through so much. Only to have Cody kidnapped and only she can talk to him through their mind speak. Once he finds Tessa he refuses to let her go again. Now their group must find all the bosses in this blood farm business and eliminate them all before it's too late

I've loved the series. Towards the end of the series though there gets to be quite a bit of editing that I noticed that should've been done. Still worth the read though.
