The clock is ticking, and for Margot, time has just run out.
Margot Remington exits the wood-lined boardwalk at Moonstone Beach and pedals her bike onto the highway. It's dusk, and the sky has started to grumble, the clouds shifting and bending as they turn a melancholy shade of charcoal. Rain was coming. Margot could smell it in the air. But after the argument she’d just had with her sister, she wasn’t ready to return home yet.
Glancing at her watch, Margot realizes she’ll have little time to freshen up before her date with Sebastian if she doesn't return home soon. She pedals faster, slowing when a car driving in the opposite direction swerves, its headlights blinding her as it zooms her way. Margot slows to a stop, realizing her mistake when the car shows no signs of breaking.
In a split-second, the car collides with Margot, and she finds herself hurdling through the air, her bike going one way as she goes the other. Her mind whirls in this moment, as she thinks about her life and just how much she doesn't want to die.

While the books in this series are all pretty safe reads, this particular one does have some subject matter that might be a trigger for some readers. There is mention of sexual assault. (It does not happen on the pages, but it is talked about.) A young teen goes missing and then her tangled up bike is found. The girls mom happens to me Private Investigator Georgianna Germaine's doctor and good friend, so of course she is going to help search, even if the good doc hadn't hired her. There are a few darker elements as far as events that took place prior to the girl gone missing. This one was a little more enjoyable(?) with the characters interactions. Since the missing girl was a teen, we get some of that fun teen angst/drama since Georgianna needed to talk to her friends. It was fun watching the youth with the older characters and how they got along together. As is usually the case with this author, there are plenty of suspects and possible motives, but the reveal is a bit of a surprise. While there were parts of the book that were hard to read (due to the emotional aspect,) this is one of my favorite books in this series so far. It reads from Georgianna's POV, with the exception of the first chapter, which is always from the victims POV. It reads easily and quickly.
I’ve read all the books in this series, and they keep getting better each time. This book could also be read as a stand-alone. Georgiana is a former police officer who has opened her own private investigation agency with two of her former colleagues. Each of them has their own unique talents which blend nicely together to solve their cases. In this book, a local teenager has been murdered. As the girl’s mother is a friend of Georgiana’s mother, she is investigating even though she hasn’t been hired. The interactions with Georgiana and the teenagers were very interesting, as teenagers aren’t very forthcoming. I should know better than to begin one of Ms. Bradshaw’s books in the evening as I’m unable to put it down until I’m done. The story captivates me more with each twist and turn.

The book includes mentions of statutory SA so a trigger warning if you’re sensitive to such topics. The plot was rather predictable it felt more like the author trying to vicariously live through the protagonist with a bit of a murder on the side. She has a perfect husband and drives a 1937 Jaguar for some reason while solving cases which felt so oddly specific that led me to this conclusion. Apart from that the book is like any average small town mystery book with a rich family with some dark secret that usually has something to do with the case. Overall it’s mediocre enough for me to not hate it. I’d recommend it if you have nothing else to read and if you don’t like to stray away from the small town mystery trope.
I could not stop reading this book until the end! I felt like I was solving the mystery right along with Georgiana! I love Bradshaw's action-paced writing... Always hooked from page 1. She always opens with chapter 1 when the victim is murdered, so even though the reader knows a murder has happened, (or did it....) it was a twist in this book that the characters start with a missing persons search, and an accident that leaves a lot of questions. I'm always totally surprised by the ending, but it is definitely believable. You do not need to read the whole series before reading this book, but I have loved the whole series as well!
I read the series and I like the books. I didn’t like this book because of the ending. There were a few good suspects in the book which all had motive which is good but in the last few pages the killer is named. There were no clues thru out the book that this person was the killer. He would never have been thought of as a suspect. I like to at least think I know who could have done it. This person was just mentioned in general. I don’t consider this a surprise ending. A surprise ending would be when a main character was the killer. Someone who was in the book a lot.
The book was a slow burn. There was a masterfully done twist torwards the end. In general, a very enjoyable read with all the details needed for the perfect murder mistery. I found the character of the detective very down to Earth and genuine, but also smart and incredibly observant. We got a peek into the real emotion of the detective through her dreams and I believe it painted a very good picture of what she was experiencing on an emotional level, even though it neither was rational, nor her Style to act this way.
I’ve read each of the Georgiana Germaine books. Each one keeps me guessing. The books characters are believable and contain realistic situations. As a PI it is understandable that Georgiana would become involved in the investigation, especially for a friend. An easy read that was a page turner for me. There were many suspects, but with the twists, I didn’t guess the culprit until it was revealed.
Margot has a fight with her sister and takes off on her bike to meet an ex-boyfriend but never gets there. Everyone is looking but Rae hires the PIs to search. Georgiana starts her search and that's where it really gets interesting. Lots of twists and turns and a lot of surprises but I did not see it coming when the killer is revealed, a complete shock. Really great book, I couldn't put it down!
This latest mystery is one surprise after another! I was hooked from the beginning. Georgiana Germaine is one of my favorite characters this author has dreamed up. I love her interactions with Foley and they often give much needed humor to balance the intense mystery. I felt like I was along for the ride right beside our intrepid investigator. The reveal left me stunned. I can't wait for the next book!
I hate it! I hate that I didn't realize this was part of a se⁹ries, & NOT book #1! Now, I have to start at Book #1 & catch up! So, THIS book. I liked it very much! Ms. Bradshaw got me! It's the first time in YEARS when I hadn't figured out whodunit WAAAY before the reveal. This time, only about 2 seconds before! THAT makes a book VERY good in my book! I will thouroughly enjoy catching up!
Once again captured by Cheryl Bradshaw . Each book in this series is better than the last one. As usual I could not put it down until I finished reading the book. I find the chsrstures come alive s you read the book and Just when you think you know who done it you are wrong. There Is always an intriguing twist. Well worth reading. Highly recommend.

This story starts with a teen girl's disappearance and the mystery surrounding her life. Georgiana comes across the police as they start investigating and becomes intrigued. When Margot's mother comes to hire her, she discovers that there are several suspects and more than one mystery to solve. There are several twists and turns before all is revealed.
Georgiana is a great detective who gathers clues and tries to piece together each of the pieces of the puzzle to see how it all fits and solve the case. If anyone can find out what happened to Margot it is Georgiana! This is another excellent book with Georgiana and her fellow detectives! I love a great mystery!
What a great book full of twists and turns. As always Cheryl Bradshaw didn’t disappoint, just when I thought I knew who did it she threw another character that could have done it leaving me with questions. Even at the end I had know clue who had murdered Margot. I was shocked when the killer was unveiled. As always another riveting book.
I have enjoyed this series. I actually read book 4 first. 😂🤦♀️ I think Amazon had it free and I got an email about it or something. I’m not sure if I noticed it was in a series or maybe I just thought I would try it since it was free. But anyways, after reading book 4 I went back and started at book 1 and then read all of the books that are currently out. I find them to be fast reads.
3/5 free on books app so thought I'd give it a read while traveling.. was really entertaining! Enjoyed it :) think their should have been more foreshadowing in the beginning about the true killer cuz I was completely thrown at the end and couldn't tie much in towards the beginning of the book with how it ended
🤷♀️ it was alright. The story kept me engaged enough and it was a super fast and easy read, but it was not an intense book. The characters and their interactions felt a little shallow and simple considering the circumstances they were allegedly going through. Reads a little like a cozy mystery while dealing with a *little* more intense content.
Georgiana agrees to help her friend Dr. Rae when one of her daughters goes missing. Interesting characters and lots of twists and turns. Could the boyfriend, the coach, the mother's boyfriend or the student whose mother spoils him rotten have something to do with the girl's disappearance? Interesting until the end.
Again, Bradshaw gave you a surprise ending. I enjoyed the storyline...you could see this one actually happening. I am enjoying the characters and how their relationships blend and advance with each book. One can read books out of order but it's been fun reading them in a row.
I really enjoy this series. I know to expect the unexpected, but this book really blew me away! I had NO idea who the killer was, but in the end it made perfect sense! Thanks to the author, Cheryl Bradshaw for the advanced copy and I highly recommend this book!
If you haven’t read Cheryl Bradshaw’s Georgiana Germaine series, Little Buried Secrets is her newest release. This book has Georgiana (in her vintage clothing), off on a hunt for a killer. The ending surprised me, which made for a great read. Love, love, love this series.
Another great read by Cheryl Bradshaw as Georgiana Germaine finds the killer of her friend's/physician's daughter. There are many suspects and the true killer is only realized at the very end of the story. Super, quick read.
I enjoyed reading this murder mystery . I had no idea until the end who the real killer had been. Well written and kept my interest throughout. I highly recommend this book.
I love Gigi's style and how she goes about solving a crime. Her family and friends around keep in interesting always. Ms. Bradshaw always has these twist and turns and surprises me which is not easily done. I enjoy her books and keep coming back for more.
W🤩W!! I can’t believe this was part of a series and I started with book E I G H T! I was sucked right in from the first chapter. It was unputdownable until the last page and it had me guessing and I still didn’t figure it out until the end. This was sooo good!
Some stories are hard to imagine, especially when you know they could happen in real life. I enjoy reading this series because the detective is an interesting character. The writing in this book did not disappoint.
A really good read. A final twist at the end surprised me which made the storyline even better. Good characters & a believable thriller that didn't dwindle in the tense atmosphere. It kept you trying to guess who the killer was.
