If you've ever (a) used bronzer successfully, (b) visited TheBeautyDepartment.com, (c) looked up "beachy hair tutorials" on YouTube or (d) pinned any beauty tip regarding applying foundation or eye makeup, you won't need this book. I promise.
Much like "Lauren Conrad Style," I felt like this book was aimed more toward a high-school and junior-high set; the "tips" aren't anything we haven't all heard before (wash your face before you go to bed! avoid these ingredients in shampoos and makeup! don'(wash

Disappointing. There was nothing new here, other than very general advice - get enough sleep, take me-time, eat well, put on makeup - and I feel like anyone who reads a magazine could get the same information.
I was most interested in Lauren's hairstyles; they were boring too. Mostly braids (which I can do already thank you) or hair worn down and wavy. Old news.

If you want this kind of information, either watch hair how-to videos on You Tube (more helpful) or read the Beauty section

This book is the best of u are kind of new to makeup (12-18 yrs old or just not good at it) and it is written well, with 'big' words incorporated in good context. The fact that Lauren Conrad wrote this book was definitely the reason for me buying it, since she always looks healthy and great and I wanted to get all of her tips. I already knew she was a bearable writer since I read L.A Candy (best guilty pleasure books EVER.) I don't have a huge attention span so I was worried I would get bored an ...more

This book was meant to help people learn about beauty. Page after page was about cool tips and tricks that everyone should know about and use or maybe serve as a reminder to use those tricks. There were do's and don'ts and crazy information about some products. There were great examples on how to do things and it was clear on each step you had to take. It told you what to avoid and it had chapters so you didn't have to search the whole book for little things.
I expected a little more from th

Awesome book. I know a lot of people say that it's not really good, but that's just because they read a lot of magazines. I LOVE magazines. I read them every single night right before I go to bed. But this book is HER advice. She is a very talented girl and that's the difference between a magazine and this book. It gives you more details her way. I think this book is much better then her style book. Not a fan if the la candy series. They were ok. The reason I didn't give this book five stars is ...more

Lauren Conrad will forever be one of my all-time favorites. I think she is just so classy and chic. I can't wait to try out some of the looks and tips from this book. I've had Lauren Conrad Style on my bookshelf for the longest time and have never gotten around to reading it. I think I just might now!

Lauren Conrad is my idol. No really, she is. Another successful and well-written book. If you enjoyed or got help from her book Style, then you will love this one!

Primarily this book is for beginners, but as a more experienced makeup artist, hair stylist and "fashionista" I still found this an enjoyable book. It took me back to basics with all the things that I usually look past just because I know more advanced techniques. It proves you can create a perfect face with only a few products instead of the 50 billion that we usually thrash upon ourselves with every day. You can create a beautiful hairstyle in just a few steps and you can sure as heck amp up y ...more

For a person who only wears makeup about 30 percent of the time, I have read an astounding number of beauty books. This is not a bad one by any means, but I didn't actually learn anything new from it. If you've read other books on makeup and skin care, I'd say skip this one and just watch Conrad's YouTube tutorials for winged eyeliner.

That being said, the book has good information, great pictures, and excellent lists of safe and unsafe ingredients. This would not be a bad place to st

I absolutely love this book!! I have already started doing all the hairstyles with my daughter and I learned a little about make-up, brushes, nail polish, and other general beauty skills. I just loved how it is easy to look stuff up, the pictures help recreate the skills listed, and the helpful tips really are helpful. This was a pleasant surprise!!! A fantastic book for teens and adults!

I love Lauren Conrad's style. Always have. It's classy, clean, and cosmopolitan. But I didn't love this book like I loved her book Style. This book was more for girls who are maybe 12-14. It was just really basic stuff.

Everyone has pictures through their teen years where they are like.. what was I thinking??? It's like Conrad begins talking about things in the book but doesn't elaborate too far into the subject. I guess one thing in the book she does really get into is making a wing wi

I am a huge Lauren Conrad fan. I wish to be as successful as her. When you look at her you know she is an amazing person and that's how I want to be. Anyway getting back to the book, it's an amazing book. She put in a lot of effort on this book and it is quite visible. If you own bobbi browns beauty rules you will find the two are very similar. But Lauren shares her own experience being on the spotlights and such. She is great. I'd rate it 5 but just because Lauren is my fave I won't give her bo ...more

I bought Lauren's fashion book earlier this year and fell in love with it. I have a similar style to her and picked up some great ideas. When I heard about this beauty edition, I knew it'd be great straight away. A lot of the content is information I already know, being a big hair and make up fan, but there's definitely stuff I've picked up. Love it!

I'm not a fan of her or anything, but I liked this book. Easy tips all for the beauty/fashion person in a beginners level. Step by step guide for an easy, effortless style. People mention it's nothing new, but when you find yourself out if internet, this book is a really good quick guide to have available!

Absolutely loved this book! Very informative, helpful, and clear. I love the way Lauren writes and she will always be an inspiration to me! Plus I love the many "how to's" in this book... I know I'll be using it for reference when I want a hairstyle or makeup look! Definitely recommend :)

I got few beauty-tips from this book (techiques and certain products to try basicly). I enjoyed Lauren's hairstyling-tips and Lauren's own looks in the book. I'm going to try them out and see maybe they'll become my looks as well;)

I had my 12-year-old in mind when I brought this book home. She's interested in hair and make-up, and I thought this might have some fun ideas and helpful tips. I was hoping for something a little more eye-catching, like a step-by-step blog post, so that aspect was a little disappointing. But we still wound up with a new idea or two.

No one was more surprised than me when I discovered Lauren Conrad is a great writer! Her anecdotes and advice are highly helpful. It has be thinking abou

Beauty
By Lauren Conrad

Beauty by Lauren Conrad is a book that talks a lot about the healthy way to look and feel beautiful. Many women feel like they have to cover up all of their imperfections with makeup and other beauty products. The author is trying to teach the reader that you shouldn't cover up the imperfections but to focus on the perfections so that the imperfections are less noticeable. For example say you like your eyes but not your lips you w

Any of my friends could tell you I’m not a traditional girly girl. I rarely use makeup, and if I do, it’s mostly just stuff for acne or lipgloss or concealer. I don’t actively go seeking tips, but I will admit that that this book did tempt me with the combination of autobiographical narration AND beauty tips. However, I found that “Lauren Conrad Beauty” sorely lacked in terms of new material in the beauty tips department and I found myself reading it for the autobiographical bits that are includ ...more

I recently finished reading the Lauren Conrad Beauty book, it was written by her and some of her stylists (and friends) and the genre is 'Self Help' because it's beauty tips or biography because it was written by her.

The book is simply about beauty tips, hair, makeup, that's what the book is all about and it's in Lauren Conrad's perspective. She writes her personal tips and opinions that sh
