Nashville #3

What We Feel

Rate this book
Hunky musicians Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin rescue Nashville bound CeCe MacKenzie and her Walker Hound Hank Junior from the side of the road when her car catches on fire. A less determined girl might have let her dreams go up in smoke as well, but not CeCe. She’s been singing all her life, and she just wants a chance to do the thing she loves in a place where music is part of the fabric of life. As it turns out, Holden and Thomas want the same thing, and it isn’t long before they’re all chasing after the dream together.

Falling in love hasn’t figured in to CeCe’s plans, but the moment she sets eyes on Holden, her heart is asking why not? Holden is drawn to her as well, but he already has someone in his life, Sarah who still lives in Atlanta, Sarah who loves him. Who he thought he loved back until CeCe makes him realize he hadn’t really known that love could turn him inside out.

But an unexpected visit from Sarah brings to light a terrible truth and Holden is faced with a choice between doing the right thing or permanently defining himself as a guy he never thought he would be.

It is only in letting each other go that both Holden and CeCe will come to understand that in life and love, the part that’s real is what we feel.

Inglath Cooper

Virginia author Inglath Cooper fell in love with reading as a little girl, devouring most of the books in her elementary school library. At some point, she decided she wanted to pursue a writing career, creating romance fiction that did for others what her favorite books have done for her. “I love character-driven books that leave me feeling as if I’ve really known these people and make me wish I didn’t have to turn the last page.”

“Romance fiction has always appealed to me because it deals with so many of the relationships in a woman’s life. Not only the love of her life, but often her relationship with her mother, sister or best friend. Romance authors have so much room to explore many of the meaningful moments and transitions in women’s lives. And who doesn’t love a good love story?”

Inglath most often writes stories about love and life that are set in small Virginia towns like the one where she grew up. “I like to think the flavor of my hometown shows up in my books both in their setting and through the characters who people it.”

When aspiring writers ask her how to be an author, she says, “Everything I know about writing books I learned from reading books.”

Inglath has been chosen as a RITA® Award winner for best long contemporary romance novel given out each year by Romance Writers of America. Her books are available through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, itunes.com, and Kobobooks.com.

Outside of writing, Inglath is actively involved in dog rescue, working with The Franklin County Humane Society to place dogs and cats in need of rehoming. She volunteers her time in every capacity possible: serving on the Board of Directors, fundraising, photographing dogs and cats available for adoption and serving as a foster home. “Helping an abused or neglected dog go on to have a wonderful life with a family who loves them is more rewarding than I can possibly say.”

I have really enjoyed this series set in Nashville where the struggles to survive and make it big are ever present. Cooper has kept my attention throughout each book with easy to like characters, touches of drama, humor and romance. This novella continued the storyline by upping the interest with some shocking revelations for many of the characters before tying my stomach in a huge knot with a cliffhanger from hell. I can't wait for the release of Nashville #4!

Unlike part two that takes up where part one ended, part three starts up nineteen months later. Holden has left Nashville to go back to Georgia to be with Sarah while she undergoes treatment for cancer. He stills writes songs for Thomas and sends them to him but it’s just Thomas and CeCe continuing on, playing in bars and clubs as Barefoot Outlook. They’ve grown together and have become close friends that complement each other on the stage hoping that the two of them alone can catch that break that they thought they had found when Holden was still in the picture. It’s only when someone takes interest in one of Holden’s song and wants to add it to his new album that things take another turn. He’s determined to do the right thing and stay with Sarah leaving the past in the past but she’s moved on with someone new and wants Holden to do the same.

Things have changed when Holden returns though, he’s now the one that’s single and CeCe is the one in a relationship. Can they be around each other every day and pretend that they don’t have feelings for each other? Can they be friends who encourage each other’s success or will there past break everything and everyone apart? Just when everything seems to be going in the right direction, the bottom drops out and then…all you see is The End. In true fashion of the construction of this series you are left with a cliffhanger that leaves you needing more.

Really like this series, the books keep getting better and better. THis book takes place 19 months later. Holden is whit Sarah, who is recovering great from cancer. Thomas, who is an amazing character and CeCe are performing around Nashville. CeCe is dating Beck, he is the son of Case Phillips a country music superstar. Case wants Thomas and Cece along with his son Beck, to join his tour, a chance of a lifetime. Holden gets an offer from another star to buy one of his songs.
Holden comes back, after Sarah tells him she has fallen for someone else and she wants him to follow his dreams. Cece and Beck have been dating for about a year, but Cece is still in love with Holden.
They go on tour and Holden goes with them. Holden and Cece try really hard to stay away from one another but it is impossible, their feelings run too deep.
This books ends on a cliffhanger..make sure you have book four ready to go

I loved reading the outstanding, amazing, heartbreaking, wonderfully written, romantic, contemporary story What We Feel by Inglath Cooper.
This is the third book in the series and continues with Holden returning to Nashville after his girlfriend, Sarah, breaks up with him. CeCe, Thomas, and CeCe's boyfriend, Beck, are getting ready to go on tour as the opening act for Beck's dad, Case, the country singing star. Thomas invites Holden to join them in the band and CeCe and Beck agree. As Holden and CeCe's attraction and love for each other simmers, the story ends in an unbelievable cliffhanger.
Read the highly recommended extraordinary, fantastically written story What We Feel by Inglath Cooper.

Wow!!! Part III was a fantastic read and my favorite so far!
Love, betrayal, forgiveness, happiness, sadness, anger, fear, some of the words, among other emotions and feelings, to describe this novella! Though a lot of things happened in this book, the reading was light and easy. I think this is the first time I genuinely like every single character in a book. Although the story is about Holden and CeCe, I think Thomas is wonderful! Actually, he's my favorite character, he's so lovely and kind and funny and bigger than life. I can't wait for part 4!!!

What We Feel: Nashville Part 3 is by Ingath Cooper. The third book finds Thomas and CeCe playing together as a duo. Holden has gone back to Atlanta to be with Sarah and fight her cancer. Although it feels funny performing without Holden, they go ahead and do it. The foursome they had tried at Case Phillip’s insistence with Holden and Sarah worked wonderfully; but the Barefoot Outlook went to a duo when Holden and Sarah left. However, it did leave CeCe dating Case’s son Beck.
While playing one night, they were approached by Hart Holcomb’s manager. Hart had heard of a song Holden had written, came to hear it and loved it. It said exactly what he wanted to say when his wife was killed by a drunk driver. He wanted to record Holden’s song. However, they have to get Holden’s permission. Thomas sets out to try to convince Holden to do this.
Meanwhile, Case asks CeCe if the Barefoot Outlook would regroup and play as an opening act for his next music tour. He would bring his son, Beck, back on the electric guitar as he had played it for their audition almost two years ago. This would be a great break for Thomas and CeCe but a sad one without Holden.

I am enjoying this series immensely so far. It is well written and each installment flows nicely into the next. The chapters are continuous, so it is like one long book broken up into pieces.

Holden has a girlfriend, Sarah, who shows up at the apartment for a surprise visit just as things seems to be heating up for Holden and CeCe. Sarah has a secret that Holden finds out after she leaves which pretty much guarantees there is no hope for him and CeCe. CeCe and Beck are friends, but Beck wants more. CeCe is trying to forget Holden, but she can't. Stay tuned.....

I picked this series up for a reading challenge and instantly was hooked on Cece's story. I ended up binge reading the first five books in the series. I plan to finish the series in the future. I loved the story it's beautifully written. We are introduced to Holden and Thomas who rescue her on her way to Nashville. They have this instant spark and chemistry that sends them down a whirlwind adventure as they all reach for their dreams of making it as singers. This is my first series by the author but I'm hooked on her writing style.

I can hardly wait to read book four

I loved this book. Much excitement. I don't have time to write a review because I have to read book four right away. This is definitely a cliff hanger. I loved it.
Read it yourself you will be glad you did. I had no idea that things would unfold as they did.

This is part three of a music industry based romance. Each segment is around 100 pages which I resent, since the story could be told in fewer longer books. The only saving grace is that it is available through Kindle Unlimited so at least they can be read for free. They aren't bad stories, it's just frustrating to have the story broken up so much. This one in particular had a cliffhanger ending.

Very much enjoying the series. I look forward to what’s coming next and have been reading each book in between more complex & dense books. It’s a good story & series that’s an easy read and, in fact, would make a great TV streaming series. It’s reminiscent of Virgin Rivers, which I also read and watch.

Good storyteller

Ms Cooper is a born storyteller, and the reintroduction of Holden to the saga is handled well. The ending leaves you no choice but to grab Book 4 immediately. There is not a terrific amount of nuance here, but the story keeps moving the reader onward.

Cliffhanger ending and I am so annoyed I hope book four starts with a whole new cast of characters. So many cliches, no new story, yet I am going to continue with the series.

This book is about how CeCe and Thomas continue on with their music career while Holden moves on with his new career in Atlanta.

Cece has learned to accept her new life without Holden. She even has a new man in her life and life is good, mostly. She is happy to be making music with Thomas. She enjoys singing in the clubs and meeting new people.

Then Holden receives an offer for a song he has written. Things are put into motion that will change all three of their lives.

This book had some twists I didn't see coming. These twists made the story a real page turner. If you've fallen in love with these characters like I have, you will want not want to miss out on this book. Pick up a copy and curl up for a few hours. I don't think you will be sorry you did.

What We Feel is the 3rd installment in Inglath Cooper's Nashville series.

I'd read parts 1 (Ready To Reach) and 2 (Hammer and a Song) earlier this summer, so I was glad to be able to read part 3 to see what happens next with CeCe, Thomas, Holden and Sarah. Part 3 did not disappoint. Even though there's a gap of about a year and a half from where Hammer and a Song ends and What We Feel begins, the story drew me back in with the first chapter and didn't let go until I'd devoured the whole story in one setting.

I love the connection between all of the characters and how Inglath makes the story flow so smoothly, even with alternating perspectives from CeCe and Holden.

The only part that I dislike about What We Feel is that we are left with a major cliffhanger. I will be sitting on the edge of my seat until part 4 comes out so that I can see what happens after that major event that I did not see coming. But my dislike aside, you can bet that as soon as I see that part 4 is out to be read, I'll be first in line to read it!

I received a copy of What We Feel in exchange for an honest review.

Part 3 – 5 Sensational Stars

Part Three picks up 19 months after Holden moves back to Atlanta to be with Sarah and CeCe and Thomas have had to move on in their music careers by singing as duo. CeCe and Thomas are offered a once in a lifetime chance to be an opening act on tour with Case Phillips. Holden is also offered an opportunity to have his song put on the airwaves by another country music star. But where will that leave Holden? In Atlanta with Sarah or will he venture back to Nashville? I’m not going to offer up anymore about the plot, but as always, Ms. Cooper creates another special story line and the characters are so incredible in this story. I think characterization is getting stronger in every novella. Oh Lord, I can’t wait til part 5, if that’s the case. This cliffhanger is AAHMAZING! I couldn’t wait to read part 4!

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

With each part, I grow more and more attached to these characters. This book starts off 18 months after the last one ended. Holden and CeCe haven't seen each other during this time, but have they really moved on? Even Thomas has had a hard time carrying on without his best friend. Big things are about to happen in their careers. For such small books, there is a lot that happens. This one is the most shocking so far.

What We Feel by Inglath Cooper was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

OMGoodness!! Wow this author really kicked it up a notch with book three. I swear I spent 50% of my time happy and crying. Holden and Sarah have moved away from each other and no CeCe has Beck but as with true love it always come full circle. I'm dying to know where Thomas is headed. But just when you think thing will be happily ever after, ugly has a way of cropping up. I'm kicking this up a notch and giving it a five stars. Book four here I come.

It's been awhile since I read the first two parts so I was a little lost with the whole Holden, CeCe, Sarah thing. I was able to get caught up though and completely lost myself in this series once again.

And Oh. Em. Gee!! That ending! If I didn't have the 4th part already in hand I would be VERY upset right about now! I must now go dive into and and Cooper better give me a ray of hope in the next segment!
