Kingdom #6

Moon's Flower

Rate this book
Once upon a time, long, long ago a flower fairy looked up to the sky and dared to fall in love with the Man in the Moon…

This is a very special and hidden story of Kingdom.

WARNING: May contain treachery, happily ever afters, betrayals, and laughter… though not necessarily in that order.

Marie Hall is a USA Today Bestselling author and has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project.

Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

She loves to hear from her readers and can be reached at mariehallwrites@gmail.com!

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.
I got this book from LoP under the read to review theme. Thanks Carrie (moderator of LoP) for this wonderful opportunity!!!
Whoa!!! What an enchanting read, I just couldn’t get my eyes off the e-reader and kept on reading and reading till the very end. A fascinating fantasy read that I’m going to cherish for a long time.
The characters are so developed and I couldn’t pinpoint even a single negative point about any of them. The total world building is great and I loved the way things turned out at the end. The flow of the story is also great and I enjoyed the fast-pace of it.
The love that we got to experience and feel in this story really touched my heart in many ways and the skilled writing of the author made the read much more intriguing.
I loved Danika’s character and the presentation and execution of the each and every tiny detail of her personality won me over and made me adore her. A totally unique concept and the brilliant execution of it made me a great fan of Marie Hall’s work and I would be definitely following her future releases. Enjoy this book and I bet that you wouldn’t regret picking it up.

A dark, bittersweet, yet utterly lovely romance, Moon's Flower was a wonderful read. With a surprise in store about a major player in Kingdom, this novella managed to surprise me. I really enjoyed reading this fantastic book.

Both of the main characters, Calanthe and Jericho, were great. Both were likable. Calanthe was a lively, fun character and Jericho was a super sweet hero. I thought they were both awesome.

The romance was so bittersweet, it broke my heart. Worry not, we get a somewhat happy ending, but not without a lot of heartache along the way. I thought Calanthe and Jericho were lovely together. And the chemistry between them was hot.

The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. There were plenty of unexpected twists in turns for such a short book, and that kept me drawn in. Not to mention a secret about a Kingdom character that, if you've read the series, you already know. I really enjoyed the story and the ending both made me happy and broke my heart.

Moon's Flower was a fantastic fantasy romance. It was bittersweet, yet undeniably romantic, with hope in store for the characters. I really liked this novella. Romance lovers, this is a book worth reading.

I remember stumbling on Her Mad Hatter and being excited to read a different take not only on fairy tales but on Alice in Wonderland. So I read the first five stories which I enjoyed a lot. Wasn't I pleasantly surprised when Hall listened to her fans and wrote more to the series.

Moon's Flower at first seemed like a detour from the other books in the series but caught the reader at the end with a surprise twist.

Calanthe is a flower fairy who feels like she doesn't fit in and has a desperate need to grow a moon flower. She actually steals the seed from The Blue (bad idea) and accomplishes her task (which is nearly impossible). The thing is the Man in the Moon, Jericho, is watching Calanthe as she plants the flower and feels overwhelmed to help the flower grow with his magic. He's drawn to her like he's not been drawn to any other. Problem is he only gets one night a month to walk Kingdom and he's at the mercy of the Sun.

Not only that but we learn a little more about Danika and what happened to make her the godmother's to the "Villains" of the stories.

What really got me is I felt complete confused by the story. While I liked the romance between Calanthe and Jericho, I couldn't fathom how it could work out considering his connection to the Sun and his duties as the moon. But in true Hall form, the book gave us everything we could have hoped for whether it was a perfect HEA or not.

What an adorable/depressing story!

I've never read a book by this author before, and I was a little concerned with starting on the 6th book in a series. Turns out, it didn't really matter.

This was an intriguing tale of love and loss, betrayal and anger. All the feelings. The story begins with a fairy telling a story to children (reminiscent of Princess Bride). She tells the story of the Man in the Moon, and his true love, Calanthe (also a fairy). She weaves a tale of the two forbidden lovers. Calanthe is intrigued by a forbidden flower, which then calls out to The Man in the Moon. You have to read the rest.

This is a short story, but it's full of great description and a really colorful world of fairies, flowers, and love.

This will not be my only Marie Hall book, I guarantee it.

I was unimpressed with this story. I mean, it was nice that Danika kinda sorta got her happy ending but I guess I wanted more for her. Danika is an awesome character and it sucks that she didn’t get what she give others. I wish we could have known more about the suns past. Was she cursed? Does she have a true love also? And we didn’t get a lot of background on the man in the moon’s powers either. It focused more on Danika which may be why I didn’t really feel a connection to him.

This story was more physical than mental, they didn’t really get to know each other. It was mostly chemistry, which I dig, don’t get me wrong but when I’m in the sixth book in the series I am invested in the characters and to not have that extra background was a let down. I’m going to let it go because I love the series though.

~ 5 Moon Stars ~

Fantastic! Amazing! Spellbinding! Moon's Flower is a bittersweet romance that elevates storytelling to a new level. We find ourselves pulled into the world of Kingdom where we have true love, heartache and betrayal. There were twist, turns and unexpected surprises. Not all stories end with 'happily ever after’….

Danika, our favored fairy godmother is back. I love how this tail kicks off. Danika is telling a fairy tail story. The impossible is always possible in Kingdom. We get some surprises I was not expecting and to talk about them will just spoil the story. The love story between Calanthe, the fairy and Jericho, the Man on the Moon was both heart warming and heart breaking. Will they get their 'happily every after'? The author also hint's at a possible way to save Hatter’s daughter. I look forward to the Huntsman’s Prey !

Fan’s of Marie Hall will love this tail. She knows how to tell a story and bring to life old fairy tails with an adult twist. The characters, plot, and written style are superb. I was spellbound and by the end Marie had me in tears. This book and others in the series can be read as stand alone, but best if read in order.

I received this book from the Author and Lovers of Paranormal at Goodreads.com for an honest review. I have read all the books in the Kingdom series by Marie Hall and again this book delivered all I wished that it would.I know this sounds strange but I always believed the Man in the Moon existed, my kids believe he exists too. We often find ourselves looking up at the moon and discussing what he might be doing and see him sitting down and drinking tea, with who we never knew until now. The book was well written, the story was light, loving, caring, vindictive, romantic and sexy and had so many other emotions running together in it. We all know of the forbidden love, but who has ever been afraid to take the chance on love. It was heart breaking to know what Danika had to endure throughout the years and the twist of who she really is and was, was the cherry on the top for me. The concept of how Jericho came to be who he is today was such an amazing tale. I can finally rest easy knowing what I always believed when I looked up into the night sky and thought I knew, holds true!

Moon’s Flower ( Kingdom Series #6 ) by Marie Hall
I absolutely LOVE Marie Hall’s work. I became a huge fan of her writing after starting the Kingdom Series. Her books are fun, light hearted, witty and very sexy. They will keep you turning the pages until the end. This story is set one night when Danica starts telling the little fairies a story, one of forbidden love, jealously and betrayal... the poignant love story of Calanthe and Jericho. It is an imaginative read that is engaging, humorous and utterly addictive. The writing is brilliant and the plot is well thought out. The story is full of magic, characters that you will fall in love with, all set in a beautiful Wonderland. This book is a great read which I highly recommend. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

What a beautifully sad beautiful story! What I want to know, how the hell does Galeta get to rule over all fairies when its so obvious how evil she really is! She's supposed to want the best for her fairies, not always seek the most vindictive ways to hurt, maim or kill them...WTF! As always this was a wonderful take on the Man in the Moon story and the fact that Danika does the telling and we get that nice surprise at the end makes it so much better! I just hope that at the end of this Kingdom series Galeta gets what she deserves, I refuse to believe she gets away with all the horrid shit she's done to people! Mortals and immortals alike!

Wonderfully Surprising!

Wow, Everytime I think I know what's going on, Marie Hall surprises me. Another great book in the Kingdom series, I can't stop reading them. Each book is so unique and such a fun quick read. And even though this author undoubtedly finds a way for me to cry at least once during the story, and I have to say that I don't easily cry over books, I read her tales whenever I'm feeling down and need a smile.
As I always say, most of these books can be read in any order, but they are more fun to read chronologically since each story builds one another and all the characters know each other and cross paths. Still, I believe firmly that this story needs to be read after Danika's Surprise and before Huntsman's Prey because the stories are so interlocked with one another. The best part is, this book has a huge surprise ending I never saw coming and is worth sticking through the sad and upsetting parts for.
Finally, I want to add a quick closing statement. I don't normally think of the moon as masculine and the sun as feminine, I have a strong belief they should be thought of the other way around, but Marie Hall is such a great storyteller that I was able to forgive the difference and love the characters despite my silliness. I fell in love with Calanthe and Jericho. This may be my favorite book in the Kingdom Series thus far, it answered so many questions about the backstory of charcters I've been following for five and a half books. I can't wait to read book seven. Thank you Marie Hall, for writing another great book.

I really loved this book! I’m so glad we got a peek inside Danikas life and how she came to be! Throughout the Kingdom books so far she has become a constant I love to see and I love her!! The books wouldn’t be the same without her! I love that she’s in each of them so far. And knowing that these stories are intertwined and as I read them I see where they connect, I love it even more! These bad boys are sure lucky to have Danika and I would be proud if she was my fairy godmother! True love prevails over all and this story surely proves it!

As great as I had hoped for!

I've been looking forward to danika and Jericho's story since I read the cursed kingdom books first before these and caught wind of it. This did not disappoint, just like every single other story from this storyline that I have read so far. Now onto the hunts man 😊
Happy Reading 📚💜

Tear jerker

Omg! I cried so hard. This book gave me such strong feels. Definitely different than any other in the series. When are they going to start planning how to take the blue fairy down. Why has she been allowed to be in the highest position for this long?

This is one of the saddest Kingdom books I've read so far. But it is beautifully written and the love story involved is just full of longing and heartbreak that you can actually feel pour from the pages.

So many reviewers retell the plot and I am not going to do that. What I will say is that if you are a fan of fairies and fantasy and myths or legends I would absolutely recommend this fun little read.
