Fuck you Volume 12a. Thanks for spoiling the shit out of volume 15 with your shitty prose conclusion.

My major bone with this book, like all the others in the Shards series, is the artwork. Its certainly much better than some of the other books outside of the original quest but it certainly lacks the sparkle that I ADORE in the original quest. Many parts were hard to see and understand, which kind of took away from the story.
I certainly don't dislike the shards storyline but it is essentially abut war and rather a deviation away from the usual type of plotline and focus on character relationshi

Elves be dyin'! The volume concludes the Shards storyline, and yes, some characters get the ax. One *really* gets the ax. Wendy's return to pencils halfway through this was welcome, but didn't entirely save Shards from itself. I have mixed feelings about this addition to the Elfquest universe. However, I liked it despite its flaws.

Note: The conclusion of this one has spoilers for the others. Also, the conclusion is written and not told in comic book format.

A major flaw in this one is the artwork. The artist/style changes partway through as well. Which is a bit jarring.

The story had a lot more potential than it lived up to. And I enjoyed seeing more of Shuna. Whom continues to be a player in the new story arc.

Part of my great ElfQuest reread! I never read this quest back when I did my first reading of ElfQuest. My only complaint with this series is the separation of Skywise from Cutter. Theirs is a love story I never want to see end.

I've learned that I really don't have much love for the ElfQuest stories that are heavy on human characters. Meh.
