The women in these poems are dates or objects to ogle at in a bikini, or daughters being taken advantage of by Camero drivers, or wives who do housework, or single moms who “line up for college like it’s a blue light special...” The first instance I noticed put me off, but by the end I felt quite repulsed. Maybe he was trying to channel a deeper patriarchy from those days? Ok, then: mission accomplished.
