Ancient Book of Enoch
The Holy Spirit inspired Jude to quote Enoch for a reason. The Ancient Book of Enoch opens by addressing those in the Tribulation period. It contains numerous prophecies about the flood and fire judgments, and the two comings of the Messiah. It teaches that the Messiah is the Son of God and that He will shed His blood to redeem us and even predicts the generation that this would occur! The book of Enoch prophesies a window of time in which the Second Coming would occur and prophesies that there will be twenty-three Israeli Prime Ministers ruling in fifty-eight terms from AD 1948 to the beginning of the Tribulation period, and much more. Even though it prophecies that the Bible would be created and says we will be judged by our obedience to the Bible, it also makes it clear that this book is not to be added to the Canon of Scripture.The Ancient Book of Enoch recounts the history of the angels that fell in the days of Jared, Enoch’s father. It testifies to their marriages with human women and their genetic experiments. This commentary includes a previously unknown chapter from the Dead Sea Scrolls that actually explains how they did their genetic tampering. I've heard of the Book of Enoch for quite some time and wanted to read it. I found it available with commentary by Ken Johnson on KU. I can understand why it was never included as cannon. I do believe that the book is a great supplement for Biblical scholars and laypersons alike. I may not agree with all of the author's thoughts, but I'm not a theologian like the author. I was intrigued with how much prophecy seems to be mirrored in scripture. It is interesting and edifying. The commentary was good, leaving me with much to contemplate. I intend to read more of the books Ken Johnson has published. Recommend this for any Christian, who is serious about studying Biblical prophecy, as a good extra-Biblical supplement.

This was my first time reading the Book of Enoch. What a beautiful book and Ken Johnson didn’t disappoint in his commentary. I cannot believe that I’m just starting to truly understand the Bible because this wasn’t taught in church. I want to read every book of Ken Johnson’s I can get my hands on now!

Decent read
Wish there were more commentaries. While the author pointed out points of connection with canonical scripture, apparent contradictions were not addressed or reconciled which might question the reliability of the prophecies in the book.

I liked this book because I could see where the author was coming from. I would have appreciated more contextualization of the text (the book of Enoch) itself. This would have enabled me to understand the book better (and I mean the book of Enoch, because this is a book about a book.) My favorite part of the side comments consisted of the tables and the history. They really gives you a sense of where the book falls in time and in relation to other Biblical and earth events. I realize that the author's intention was to show that the book of Enoch has relevance and to align it with events in the Bible. That's a very simple and noble goal, so I did not feel that the author's particular Christian viewpoint got in the way of my understanding of the content, because he was clear. I especially liked the cover of this book and it made me want to read it, and even finish it, in spite of inner obstacles. Again, my only criticism of this book is that I was left feeling like I didn't understand the book of Enoch itself enough...what is the deeper meaning behind the symbolism mentioned, according to the author? For example...fallen angels don't just represent fallen angels, they represent something more. What? This would be a good direction for future scholarship.

Excellent resource. I appreciate how Ken Johnson has cleared up the understanding of these writings. His guidance in negotiating some of the heretical gnostic portions of these manuscripts makes the study of these non-canonical works very enjoyable. Mr. Johnson's disclaimers associated with his compilations of ancient extra-biblical writings such as Dead Sea Scrolls, Enoch, Jubilees, etc. are accurately explained. Though not intended to be included in the Biblical canon, there is an abundance of ancient writings having a great benefit to truth-seekers when using The Bible as a litmus test. I have read at least ten of Mr. Johnson's titles. None have disappointed, some have been extremely engaging.

Great research and understanding of ancient history.
Thoroughly written with many cross references to paint a picture of the events. I enjoyed reading this book for the depth of understanding of ancient history. My take away is to get on my knees and Thank The Holy Trinity for writing my name in the Book of Life. Don't worry about worldly desires but work to bless humanity and seek first the Kingdom of God. Thank you Enoch and all the scribes (including Ken Johnson) for transferring this precious Knowledge to me.

As a 50 year student of the Bible and all things Religion,,, this was an amazing translation.. I have read the Book of Enoch before,, along with other apocrypha like Esdras. Very interesting and I believe Enoch was a prophet of God,, sent to speak to all future generations. His description if Heaven is amazing.. ! I understand why the beginning of wisdom of the fear of the Lord.. in the scriptures.

Very interesting addition to Bible study. I'll take anything that isn't scripture with a pinch of salt, but it is my opinion that Ken appears to be very well read and educated, a good Christian and a trustworthy source. There are people questioning Ken's credentials as there seems to be no evidence of there ever being a Christian College of Texas, which I also dare to note as I - prompted by them - tried to find it too and couldn't.
I believe his credentials are real, but I almost can't post about him on social media without someone coming along to cast doubt.

Great teaching!!
I've read other books of Enoch and always wanted to read some commentaries on it from people who have that linguistic ability. Michael Heiser is one and this one.
This one seems to also bring even more context based on other works of old. Such as the Dead Sea Scrolls themselves which hold incredible insight to, not only history, but more importantly helps us believers understand the Bible within it's proper context.
Great research and tool for understanding as well how this world has gotten so crazy and corrupt.

Christians Need to study the Book of Enoch
The Book of Enoch is not part of the canon of Scripture, but it is eminently more valuable than John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress (a valuable work). If the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to His Church, then the Body of Christ has the benefit of the Spirit’s teaching to compare Scripture with the Book of Enoch and receive understanding of End Times without becoming confused by extra biblical writings. I can see why Enoch was raptured. Good man. Good example.

Ken Johnson has investigated and studied many manuscripts going on to publish a lot of his work. However you cannot trust everything he broadcasts.
I have analyzed and checked many statements he makes and has published. To go through all the errors is far too long here but will give you 3 examples of numerous fallacies.
1. He dogmatically stated St Augustine of Hippo who was Bishop in Algeria was called bishop since at that time anyone who taught and preached the Gospel was called a bishop. Therefore the title has no connection with the Roman Catholic Church.
The Facts:
- St Augustine after being baptized (after his conversion as an adult) was then ordained a Priest by a Roman Catholic Bishop. After his ordination as a Catholic Priest, he later went on to be appointed a Bishop.
- St Augustine later wrote a document which was an official apology titled - "On the Holiness of the Catholic Church".
- St Augustine was recognized as a Doctor of the Roman Catholic Church in 1298 by Pope Boniface VIII and canonized as a Saint. The Catholic Church DOES NOT canonize non-Catholics.
- St Augustine renounced sexuality and embraced celibacy, the Roman Catholic dogma for ordained Priests.

2. Ken Johnson sights Polycarp in his work. Polycarp born in 65 or 67 AD was a disciple of St John, the Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. He died around 100 AD. Ken states there were popes in various countries and that the word, pope, just means ‘church planter’. He adds Peter the Apostle never appointed a successor to be Pope of the Church.
Fact:
The writings of Irenaeus clearly refute this stating Polycarp visited Pope Anicetus in Rome.
Ken Johnson stated:
"Polycarp visited Rome and Anicetus wanted Polycarp to stop celebrating the Passover and celebrate Easter instead”
“Polycarp replied to Anicetus, that St John and the Apostles always celebrated Passover”
The Facts:
* Passover involves the slaughtering of a lamb in remembrance of the Hebrews being liberated from Egypt. Israelites to this day ritually slaughter a lamb on the evening of Passover, and eat on the first night of the holiday with bitter herbs and matzo. This practice was dispensed with by the Roman Catholic Church. However the Asiatic areas of the Church continued celebrating Passover.
* When Polycarp visited Pope Aniectus, the Pope discussed this matter with Polycarp (probably explaining to him the slaughtering of a lamb at Passover is no longer necessary as the True Lamb of God has been sacrificed for all). Polycarp and the Pope didn’t agree and they parted in peace. The Roman Catholic Church recognizes different customs in the different regions of the Church and does not condemn them as long as the important Catholic dogmas of the Church are maintained and no heresies exist. 3. Ken Johnson is one of the many promoters of the pre-tribulation rapture and refers to an ancient document called “Ephraem” as evidence for this false teaching.
The Facts:
* There are several different versions of this document, but the two most important versions are:

2. On the Last Times, the Anti-Christ, and the End of the World A Sermon by Pseudo-Ephraem (Latin version)

* False teachers of the rapture use Pseudo-Ephraem and keep looking for any scrap of evidence of any Christian who believed the heresy of a pre-tribulation rapture before it was invented in the 19th century.

Study the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and you will find it has faithfully preserved without error to the present day the teachings and tradition (Lord's unwritten teachings handed down orally) entrusted to it by the Lord Jesus Christ in 33 AD. Historical in context the Ancient Book of Enoch” addresses prophecies about the flood, and birth/ death of the Messiah; answers questions about the Nephilim and genetic experiments; as well as looks at future events like the number and terms of Israeli Prime Ministers up to the Tribulation. Intriguing and often backed by biblical references, the book stresses that it was not to be added to the “Canon of Scripture” (the Bible) but is interesting as an ancient commentary.

Fantastic
I've always struggled with interpretations, and Ken Johnson is the best at getting straight to the substance with easy to understand explanation. I've read the book of Enoch multiple times before this, but Ken use of the Bible verses throughout really illuminated the meaning.

Excellent!
The Ancient Book of Enoch was a great read for me. The book is laid well so it can be used as a resource in years to come. Ken Johnson gives different views and perspectives throughout his book to paint an overall picture of Enoch’s writings. I’m looking forward to reading more from Ken Johnson.

Great book in that it provides some background of the history of the text itself and then provides a translation of the text along with notes from Johnson regarding which sections of the book are (pretty obvious) Gnostic interpolations.

Worth reading
Worth reading once you finish reading the Bible first, it will make allot more sense and meaning if you start Bible first then this book. I enjoyed how author clarified allot of spots with reference notes to the Bible and possible meanings. Very good 👍

Very clear and precise thought patterns. You don't have to agree with the author to follow along and have your own opinions. He studied the material in detail and I am satisfied with how he presented the information.

A great reference book for anyone's library. I am still somewhat overwhelmed by the sights about astronomy and astrology, as well as giants and the Biblical history on genetic manipulation.
