A collection of work by the legendary American photographer presents photographs dating from his life in Germany in the 1930s, through his long career with "Life" magazine
Some things never change, like good composition, the decisive moment, and establishing rapport with your subjects. Eisie was one of the best, one of the original four LIFE magazine staffers, and a versatile photographer. You know many of his photos even if the name Alfred Eisenstaedt is unfamiliar, photos like the Times Square kiss on VJ Day, the Nazi Joseph Gobbels, and Sophia Loren on the set of “Marriage Italian Style.” His work is timeless. And thanks to a robust online used book market, classics such as EISENSTAEDT REMEMBRANCES are readily available for next to nothing. I think the four dollars I paid for shipping was greater than the cost of the book.
