Basically, a book of Edwards' meditations on how God displays aspects of His work and character in nature, the church, and (especially) the Old Testament. Not particularly deep or searching (at least compared to some of Edwards' other writings), for example, he writes about Samson:
"Samson died partly through the cruelty and murderous malice of his enemies, and partly from his own act, agreeable to what is foretold of the Messiah."
Certainly useful and true in thinking about types of the Messiah
