In the nuclear-storm devastated Deathlands a warrior survivalist of the twenty-second century leads the relentless fight to reclaim a lost world.
STONE GUARDIANS
Barely escaping from a marauding gang, Ryan Cawdor and his band of post-holocaust survivors emerge from a gateway into an idyllic community ruled by Druidic law. But this new Eden may be a mirage, concealing a deadly threat. For the seed of dissent had been sown in the past, and is again ready to destroy.
Nature rules in the Deathlands, but man still destroys.
Interesting, good read and an attention holder. Enjoy following this series and the characters especially doc. Makes one think and use the imagination.
This book was... Odd. Very unusual in terms of the flow of the other books. It starts out pretty much in the middle of the action and strangely disconnected from the other books. It actually made me wonder if I skipped a book in the series and missed out on some important content.
However, the author introduced what seemed to be new and fun enemies to the series, and the general story is packed with action. Good idea, but somewhat felt short of being really enjoyable because of the disconnect I felt at times.
Sadly, I was looking forward to the end of the story pretty much from the start.
One of the later books by Axler/Adrian/Lawrence but of interest to me as this one is set in Britain for most of the story. It's just unfortunate with these books that they're often pretty hard to get hold of either new or second hand.
