I didn't really finish this book, I was expecting a more interesting narrative mingled in with the facts, but the book really only gives an historical overview with data of the software industry. If you are writing an essay on this, it is certainly a good source, but if you just want to read for leisure, something like Hackers might be a better read.

An intriguing history of the software industry, focusing primarily on the development of the corporate software portion of the software industry. Professor Campbell-Kelly does include excellent overviews of the early days of both personal computer software industry and the home entertainment software industry.

Solide und bildend, aber nicht gerade mitreißende Lektüre.
