This book is ok, especially for early introductions to colors for kids. But I am growing a little tired of the "Here is a ____, there is a ____, this is green, this is red. . ." style of children's books, with no story whatsoever. Can't we find a more creative and entertaining way to teach colors to kids?
Cleo the cat spends the day looking at colors while she goes outside to play. She sees a shiny red bike, a yellow flower, purple plums, pink ice cream, orange ball, a black cat, blue submarine, a brown bear, and a white crescent moon. Cleo remembers the colors she sees and encourages readers to mix their own colors. With a color mixing chart at the back of the book, children can learn the outcome of mixing different colors they see in things around them.
Cleo the cat explores her world and all the beautiful colors in it. This vibrantly illustrated book can be used in Toddler story times on up to a Kindergarten art class. Parents and caregivers will be inspired to help children try to mix some of their own colors! Cleo's Color Book is perfect for ages 2 - 6.
