Dr. Kligfield covers a lot of ground from a heart attack, angioplasty to bypass surgery. Some of this information or much may not pertain to individuals interested so I skipped chapters on obesity and smoking. I wonder how current this advice is with a publication date of 2004. It may be somewhat dated in 2018 when I see Prozac described among "Fortunately, a newer group of antidepressants …that have come along in the past decade." (p. 269) The author’s qualifications are impressive.

Lots of great information here- I was looking for a book on open heart surgery and found good solid information, but felt this was geared for heart tracks more than OHS. Will definitely keep as a reference with my husbands upcoming g surgery for advice on recovery and overall health.

Good overview of cardiac disease and medications. Very little about the actual process of recovery from surgery.

Easy reading. Finished in one night. But I never smoked and don't drink so I could gloss over those sections.
