Digging Too Deep

Rate this book
Death is discovered on an idyllic southern California island when feisty British gossip columnist Tosca Trevant is banished to the U.S. at the request of Buckingham Palace. Idly snooping out of sheer boredom, she stumbles across what she believes to be human remains in a recently widowed music professor's rock garden. Tosca asks a retired U.S. Secret Service agent for help, and by solving the riddle of a coded music score, the two sleuths bring a serial killer to an unexpected end.

Brasoberys!!

Or, Cornish for "magnificent!" Jill Amadio has created a new character for us to fall in love with, the cantankerous, irrepressible Tosca Trevant. Tosca is a take no prisoners, exiled British journalist who is like a fish out of water in sunny So Cal. Along the way she manages to get caught up in not one, but TWO murders, give the local police fits with her meddling, and embarrass her race car driving daughter with her stubborn tenacity. A delightful romp that gives readers a new reason to fall in love with the cozy mystery genre all over again. I can't wait to see what's next for Tosca Trevant on our side of the pond.

Jill Amadio’s cozy Digging Too Deep is more than worthy of your reading endeavors. Start by relocating Tosca Trevant, an outrageous, disgraced, British gossip columnist, to Southern California. Next, have her live with her daughter-- a too real and tumultuous relationship. Build a desire for Tosca to move up from a gossip columnist to a crime reporter. Tag on a murder. Reading now is paramount. Tosca is a wonderful character and I look forward to more development and murder under her radar.

This novel entertained me from beginning to end. Reminded me of some of the TV series based upon female protagonists like Ms. Marpole and Murder She Wrote. The author's expertise with respect to several topics reflects her diligent research and knowledge of So Cal and Brittain. The story has numerous twists and turns that keep the reader guessing as to who done it. A fun read.

Tosca Trevant is an outrageous, disgraced, British gossip columnist exiled to the United States where she is staying with her daughter. Her inherent nosiness leads her to question the actions of her daughter's neighbor, a professor and composer. Tosca has decided to become a crime reporter after a discovery in the professor's garden. Tosca is a delight--funny, outspoken, and with no restraint. Besides, she swears in Cornish. I look forward to her next adventure.

Kind of a crazy cute little book about Tosca Trevant, a gossip reporter in London, who is exiled to California with her daughter when she sees something she shouldn't in Buckingham Palace. She is a snoop and that moves the plot forward.
Made me laugh.
