When desperately private writer Imogen offered to marry Peter Watson, it wasn't just to save a friend but to secure her own future. With her eyesight failing and no other prospects for marital bliss on the horizon, surely it wouldn't be too horrible to marry without the benefits of love. But then Peter gains a title a week before they’re set to wed and all of Imogen's ...more

I do love a story about acceptance and unconditional love. I just don't like it when it was the woman who made the proposal. It's different if it was a business arrangement but another thing if hearts were involved.

By the way, who was Valentine Radley? Imogen's publisher? Or a fusion of Valentine Merton and Linus Radley?

Peter Watson has a serious problem; OK, Peter Watson has a few serious problems: he loves to gamble but isn’t very good at it, he is on the verge of losing absolutely everything and, the woman he is engaged to doesn’t love him at all. More to the point, the woman Peter is engaged to asked him to marry her so that she may use her considerable fortune to help save him. Yeah, that’s just how

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour in exchange for a fair and honest review. I rated it 4.5 out of 5 Stars.

An utterly charming historical romance, Miss George’s Second Chance by Heather Boyd, is a good reminder to seize love when you find it. Well developed characters, good dialogue and the added physical and emotional issues accompanying someone losing their vision kept me turning the pages to discover what would happen next. While the second book in the Miss

I am so glad that I waited to read Miss Watson's First Scandal until I had Miss George's Second Chance in my hands to read. When I start one of Heather Boyd's fabulous historical romance series I can never wait to get my hands on the next book. I loved Miss Watson's First Scandal but I think I enjoyed Miss George's Second Chance just a little bit more, if that is even possible.

I knew when I met Imogene George in the first book that I liked her. She is strong, independent, and doesn't want to

It’s a short book, just around 100 pages, but Boyd manages to nicely create a tender love story about two people whose feelings for each other go deeper than they let on. And by hiding, they manage to make the other believe that they don’t care. So when Imogen makes her sacrifice by giving Peter his freedom to go find someone he can love, neither let on to how much they actually want to be together and just continue to hide those feelings from others.

As misunderstandings in romances go, this one

This was a very sweet but short historical romance novella. It tells of Imogen and Peter and their second chance of being together. I really liked the style of writing, the tone and flow of the book. Although there were a lot of areas that could have been developed more, but, because this was a novella, the essence and the romance of the story never really suffered. A very good entertaining read.

3.25 Stars - Although it isn't quite clear right away, Peter and Imogen have always liked the other. After a year absence of inheriting title and fortune, Peter comes back to Brighton and is convinced Imogen is the right woman for him despite her lost sight.

Determined to escape the Aussie sun on a scorching camping holiday, Heather picked up a pen and notebook from a corner store and started writing her very first novel—Chills. Years later, she is the author of over thirty romances and publisher of several anthologies too. Addicted to all things tech and fascinated by English society of the early 1800’s, Heather spends her days getting her characters ...more
