This macho jock has a crooked little secret.

College hockey player Austin Puett is in trouble. Unless he starts treating his flamboyantly gay roommate with respect, he’ll lose his room and his job at Rear Entrance Video. But Austin’s got a not-so-straight secret of his own: nothing turns him on more than insults implying he’s gay—even though he’s definitely not!—and all his

i had the pleasure of serving as hockey beta for this one, which (frustratingly for me—i had to wait until release to see the ending) was only a certain part of the setting. so i was gagging to see what happened to my hot porn star and his smutmonkey masochist.

That shit was tight!

The final book in the Rear Entrance Video series packed a serious punch! When I read that Straight Shooter was going have Austin, the stereotypical-macho-asshole-super-straight-jock as a main character, I was there with bells on. And then to get a porn actor/ Dom love interest? I thought I hit the jackpot. But it got better when humiliation kink w

Belleau knows how to push boundaries, exploring the various shades of human sexual psyche.

Remember Austin from the second book? He was such an ass to sweet, sweet Bobby. In this book, his attitude makes a horrible kind of sense. Because it turns out jock straight boy Austin gets a hard-on every time someone calls him a "fag" or "pussy." He has a dirty little secret: He wants to submit. To a man. But that doesn't make him gay, does it? Not exactly.

So what if Austin jacks off to gay por

The final Rear Entrance Video book! My BDSM hockey GFY story that I wrote when I was seriously ill.

Just as a warning, it's all consensual, but it does contain some pretty heavy humiliation kink, as well as homophobic and sexist language/concepts. But I think it still ends with a satisfying romance. :) ALSO PORN STAR HERO WHAT WHAT

I received this story as an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was really an interesting story. I didn't know what to expect going into it seeing how Austin acted throughout the rest of the series. I was looking forward to seeing things from his perspective, and I wasn't disappointed.

I was really pleased by what a complicated person Austin turned out to be. It was easy to see him as almost a stereotype in the earlier books, but seeing things from his point of view made
One thing I’ve noticed throughout the Rear Entrance Video series is the way Heidi Belleau questions the need to put a label on her characters’ sexuality. This was especially noticeable in Wallflower and it is a big theme again in Straight Shooter.

Austin has been having trouble dealing with the changing identities of his housemates, especially Rob, now known as Bobby, and has really backed himself into a corner by coming off as threatening and homophobic. Noah has laid down the law though and Au

I struggled to finish the book, for a variety of reasons that are 99% to do with my personal preferences, and not because the book isn't a great book for someone else.

It takes exactly 50% of the book before the MCs get together. This first half is filled with Austin's self-loathing, and I had a really hard time dealing with that. I felt kind of sick the whole time.

I specifically struggled with the whole putting-something-inside-your-body-is-emasculating thing. Yeah, yeah; unstable bodily boundar
Before I start my review, a few clarifications:
1. This is the 3rd book in the Rear Entrance Video series. I did not read the first 2 books. Those books concentrated on different characters, but all were present in Straight Shooter. I did feel a little lost at times because of not knowing any of the back story.

2. Pre-release buzz for this book was extremely positive from highly admired GoodRead friends, so I will be sending you over to the Straight Shooter page at the end of my review so you can
I've been waiting for Austin to get his comeuppance ever since Wallflower because he is such an ass. So, I'd do MORE for getting this book as an ARC copy than I'd do for a Klondike Bar. And I'd do a LOT for a Klondike Bar, just sayin'.

I'm not above begging either, jsyk. Just GIMME EEEEET!!!!!

OMG, expected publication is April? Someone hold me, please!!!

Ms. Belleau finished the Rear Entrance Video series with a bang, not a whimper.

Straight Shooter was one of those reads. You know the ones. The ones that suck you in and you can’t put them down. You have to know. You ignore your friends. You procrastinate on projects. You forego sleep. I started this thinking, ‘I’ll read a few chapters then go back to the other book’. Famous last words. And the other book doesn’t suck. At all. Simply put, Straight Shooter overtook

I am shocked. Shocked, I tell you! I did not think I was going to like Austin. At all. In my mind, there was not a chance in the warmest reaches of the Devil’s anus that he would win me over. He came off as an ignorant, empty, narcissistic waste of skin in the other books. I was expecting to dislike his character, thoroughly. All while enjoying his yummy character growth-spurts of course. Because, Heidi Belleau.

I definitely did not expect to like Austin almost instantly. I most certainly did no

This book was a bit strange. I was expecting it to be weird shit weird, and therefore funny, but unfortunately it wasn’t. I didn’t really mind though. It was okay.

Austin is a dick to people. He has trouble accepting the fact that 3 of his roommates are gay and that Bobby is now wearing women’s clothing every once in a while. But even though Austin acts like a dick, he is not a bad person.

Austin just has trouble accepting himself. He gets turned on by degrading comments about him b
Too much padding.

Too little boy pussy.

This book suffered from what too many others containing kink that is potentially misunderstood or unappealing (to some) suffers from: over-explanation aka padding.

We're overly immersed in Austin's overly angsty mind for an overly extended period of time. Then we're hobbled with over-clarification and definition and seeming justification. Then we finally get some yummy humiliation. Then more drama and some Wikipedia BDSM at the end. (I never quite like Belle

my quick thoughts, I'll try to write a real review later...

First: I am SO SAD this series is finished. I loved all three books.
Second: I cried. More than a little.
Third: as much as I loved the first two books, this book ended up being the sneak-up from behind overwhelming favorite.

So. What do you call somebody if they are not gay, but they aren't exactly straight? That makes for a very interesting and struggling yet soul searching question for our last hold-out in the roommate scenario of the Rear Entrance Video guys.

I was given a copy of this story via NetGalley in return for an honest review. One thing for sure. This book left me questioning myself, and my preconceived ideas of black and white or in this case; gay vs. straight. Is there such a thing as being neither yet

This is a difficult story to rate. At times, I didn't like Austin, especially initially. He's angry and hates himself for his inherent kink (as the blurb implies -- humiliation), and often that makes him act like an asshole. So it isn't always a comfortable story.

But that's okay, because fiction doesn't always have to play it safe, and really it shouldn't. A writer can be aware of reader's buttons to the point of avoiding anything remotely trigger-possible, and I think that's a mistake. So havin

So, I haven't read any of the other books in the series. I don't think that really affected the way I read the book other than maybe I didn't fully internalize Austin's jerkwadness, but honestly, I got enough to want to crack him upside the back of the head. The things that come out of some people's mouths--sheesh!

Also, humiliation kink isn't my favorite. Didn't bother me here, nothing was really out there, in fact at times it seemed quite alluring in the way Austin responded. And this

I liked this book but I didn't love it. Why, you may ask? Well, while I love to read about domination and submission as a kink and BDSM in many forms, this one just didn't do it for me. Firstly, I really disliked Austin in the other Rear Entrance Video books, but I tend to dislike that type of Asshole Jock/Fratboy type of personality in general. I know he had some issues and that's why he was a jerk, but I just couldn't get into him, no matter whether he was being broken down by humiliat

I really enjoyed this story, my favorite of the series. I was so anti-Austin before reading this, but he and Liam had such a unique and interesting relationship, and his personal growth was so outstanding, that he's right up there among my favorite characters now.

The author took this straight boy and showed us that he's not really so straight after all, and he's definitely not vanilla or alpha. He's a submissive whose kink is humiliation and dirty talk, and his world finally turns right on its

There are some things that are just not my kink, and humiliation is one of them. But this story made me believe and accept that for college hockey player Austin, insults and humiliation fill an aching, long-neglected need. I liked his obliviousness, his naiveté, and even his self-centered viewpoint. He's a young man who has been fighting his own needs and expectations for a long time, in order to do the thing he loves most - play hockey. It's fitting that he's so tangled up in his own head that ...more
Austin had this mental image of strapping down the Westboro Baptist Church and forcing them to watch gay porn until the only things they wanted to protest anymore were bad tattoos.

Kinky, OMFG, so kinky:
“Breed me.” “That’s right, buddy. And where do I breed you?” No question where this was leading. Liam lowered himself, nipping a trail down Austin’s neck to his shoulder. The pleasure of that was enough to distract Austin from the humiliating words his mouth was forming: “Breed me in my boyp
This was a fun book to read just not quite what I was hoping for. I don't think I have negative points about this book per say, just aspects I would have enjoyed more if they were different.

So point one, I found this book focused more on Austins fear of being gay and dealing with the labelling of his own sexuality, rather than the humiliation kink.

The humiliation could have definitely been more hashed out! There is a 2 month period where what occurred was just outlined and I really wanted to se

There was just too much endless introspection from Austin for a good portion of the book. I would have preferred that time to be spent on the relationship, which was summarily skimmed after the first meeting. However, it -was- indeed hot, except for that thing with the sushi scene which I just personally found too strange. And I liked Austin, even though I have an aversion to jocks. The big misunderstanding brought Liam down a lot of notches in my eyes because I hate that kind of plot device, bu ...more

Hands down the best book in the series. It hit on kinks you rarely see pulled off in a satisfying and accurate way, this is a sure buy for me when it officially comes out, and something I will be quick to recommend for people looking for a fun kinky read. I love how Belleau dealt with Austin's sexuality through the novel, and it was great to see him grow and develop as a character.

After returning to this book after the offical release, my review stays as strong. The sheer emotional and personal

I was really looking forward to this book, it had hockey and a porn theme, what more could a girl want? However, this book started really slow for me, and never really seemed to pick up.

Austin is struggling to define his sexuality. Between playing hockey and living with gay couples, Austin is bombarded with extremes from both sides of the spectrum. When he takes home a few gay videos in hopes that it’ll help him figure out wh

This book surprised the hell out of me. I was afraid to read it - afraid the BDSM would be too much for me, afraid Austin would be an irredeemable asshole, afraid I wouldn't understand Austin's sexuality, afraid I wouldn't get to know or like Liam - just afraid. Turns out that was completely unfounded because I loved this. Loved it. I almost never give 5 stars, especially on first read, but this blew me away.

It was so unexpectedly funny. I mean, gosh, it was fucking hilarious at times. My favor
Well, that was unexpected. Although maybe I should have expected it given the previous two books and their unique characters and situations.

First off, I loved the cover. Hockey - yes! I'm an Australian and know next to nothing abuot the game but there is something so hot and sexy about those men on the ice! Porn star - who doesn't like a story about a porn star?

From the title and blurb, I was expected a nice story about Austin struggling with his attraction to a man. But this isn't the story I g
Loved it! Definitely my favorite book out of the series. Austin was such a mess- I spent the whole book divided between wanting to hug him and wanting to smack him upside the head. The story was pretty strongly focused on Austin and his journey- we didn't even meet Liam in person until the 25% mark. If Austin was a woman, I'd call this Women's Fiction more than a romance novel. I'm not sure what to call it when the main character is a man. Queer Fiction? There are certainly romantic elements, bu ...more
