The Beauty Series contains the complete collection of sexy novellas in this new adult romance between a professor and his student.
Erin cleans Mr. Morris's house twice a week to pay for college. When she interrupts him in a private moment and hears him moaning her name, she refuses to hide her feelings for him any longer. Blake Morris is scarred both inside and out. When he receives an offer to return to teach at his alma mater, he knows this is his chance to reenter the world--and to be worthy of the woman he loves.
Except the class he's teaching is the last one she needs for graduation, so they can finally be together. Secrets and shadows lay in wait along the path, and it will be up to Erin and Blake to forge their own happy ending.
Don't know if it was me or the story, but I didn't get into this 'episode' the way I did the first one.
There are some typos and quite a bit of repetition. (Thoughts of the MC's) The repetition slowed 60+ pages down to a crawl for me & I had a hard time getting through it.
The intimate scenes are pretty hot and some are very romantic. Half of it I liked, half of it I didn't.
In honor of Beauty and the Beast coming out, I thought I would do some themed reading! This WAS AMAZING!! First of all he is so broken and thinks himself so hideous and by the end I EVEN FORGOT about this scars!!! That's how much you fall in love with him!!!! This is HOT!!! Sweet, sexy and a really fast read. Definitely tingle worthy and he has stamina, damn...does he have stamina...
Absolutely loved this series and I highly recommend it! How so? Let's say, for example, if CD Reiss's Songs of Submission married Amy Harmon's Making Faces then Skye Warren's The Beauty Series might very well be their offspring. Sounds good, yes? Told in a series of four lovely and erotic novellas, Blake is a reclusive soldier suffering from PTSD and a deep shame that one side of his face is horribly disfigured from burns he suffered in battle. He is attracted to his maid, Erin, a college student who needs every penny she earns cleaning houses. They grow close talking about political science, philosophy, books, etc. but it isn't until, she accidentally walks in on him masturbating and calling out her name that a passion between them grows. Rich and poor, employer and employee, Professor and student, her fear of giving her power to a man, his fear that she won't stay because of his looks: these are some of the barriers to them being together and they're all dealt with in such a searing and beautiful manner. And, of course, there is a seething passion between them, each one submitting to the other according to needs and desires. Their's is an intuitive love-making, at times rough, at times tender, always erotic. They become so very real to each other and this allows them to become real to us as well. So much so, that I will miss them and I would happily read brief novellas on how their love story progresses.
Let me just stress, the writing is wonderful and, at times, gorgeous, especially the bits in Blake's voice.
Just give the first couple pages a chance and you WILL be sucked in, pun intended.
“She poked her head in his bedroom and found him there. Her breath caught in her throat as she took in the sight. He lay spread out on the bed, his skin still damp from a bath, a towel in disarray around his waist. And he was masturbating. Shit!"
5 Exquisite Stars! Genre: Erotica, taboo Narrative: Third person, Dual POV Hero: Blake Morris, gruff but truly kind-hearted. I'm definitely Team Blake heroine: Erin (No last name, poor thing) smart, sweet, strong, sane (which is so refreshing) Recommend: Absolutely! Reread: Yes! Heat: Scorching Series of four novellas Editing: Excellent!
I like instant gratification, so I like to read serials once they've been bundled. The trade off is having to slog through tons of gratuitous sex. Each (very short) installment had no less than 3 detailed sex scenes. Not all of those were plot progressing or character building. So I did skim a couple. The writing is fantastic, the hero and the heroine were likable and it's one of my favorite tropes so I did enjoy this. Part of the fault lies with me. I don't think a serial (in it's individual installments or as a whole collection) will ever get the full-range of stars from me.
In order to pay her way through grad school, Erin cleans house for reclusive former soldier, Blake Morris, a man she both respects and loves for his brilliant mind. Scarred both physically and emotionally from his military service, Blake has no intention of acting on his attraction to Erin, but when she walks in on him during an intimate moment, he realizes that it is now or never.
Series note: This review is for the complete collection of short stories originally published as separate novellas. It includes the 5th installment, Loving the Beast, which is not included in this bundle.
Not only do Erin and Blake have smokin' hot chemistry, but the build up of their emotional connection alongside their physical attraction makes for a very engaging story.
Both Erin and Blake's characters are fleshed out well over the course of the individual novellas as they grow both as individuals and as a couple. Erin and Blake complement each other in every way as she encourages him to come out of his shell and rejoin society while he bolsters her self-confidence by showing her that she is worthy of love, trust and respect.
All in all, a sweet and steamy read with appealing characters and relatively little angst.
I love Skye Warren, however I could not finish this book. Within the first chapter the couple are sleeping together, there's no connection, no getting a connection or backstory on these two. Just wham bam I love you, let's have sex!! Again in the first chapter, first few pages actually! WTF!? No story, no anything that would make a reader want to read this book!
I really enjoyed this series. It was immensely sensual and beautifully told. Blake was a tragically broken hero and Erin, who wasn't without her own insecurities - was absolutely perfect for him. I loved watching these two go from lust to love and experiencing every crack in the wall occur until they all crumbled, leaving to perfectly matched souls exposed.
Erin's been cleaning houses to make her way through college. She's been cleaning Blake's house for a while (I think) and lusting over him too. He was a soldier wounded from a explosion and half his face has been burned so he has excluded himself from the world. He has been watching Erin too, the young, sweet, diligent girl and now there seems to be a chance to act on each other's attraction.
The lacking of context in this book was infuriating, I don't know their ages, I don't know their physical appearance. In the first pages, Erin walks on Blake masturbating thinking about her... and that's not a spoiler because it happens in page 3 or 4, litterally. Talk about breaking the ice. From there is insta love and sweet, sweet situations and thoughts it spiked the sugar in my blood flow.
The sex scenes were good and sexy but way too many for my liking, I don't know. I guess I just didn't believe in their connection since I didn't have any background, so that was a huge turn off for me. And also Erin's snobism (is that a word?) She condemmed Blake for his wealth because of her own insecurities. Man, she was annoying.
The writing was ok but too long to have no plot at all, I like my books with a little more of drama.
I read it, but struggled with it. It was repetitive in the sense in that the H/h just kept thinking about the same things over and over again(Am I good enough? I can't believe she/he is with me, I'm not good enough.) On and on it went. And I get its erotica that I'm reading but the sex was constant, and I can't believe that I'm complaining about it, but it was just so excessive. If constant sex and a beauty and the beast theme is your thing, look no further.
I keep reading the 5 star reviews wondering what I am missing. The characters were superficial. It didn't seem like any effort was put into their story. You would think the number of times they had sex, it would add to the story, but all it did was add to the page count.
My gosh, 80% sex scenes. The story was undramatic but at the end of day, A LOVE STORY, A man scarred through serving the military. He must be on Viagra 5x. I can't understand how they had time to interact with others. It is a good read but better than BDSM books as respectful.
I made it thru books 1 and 2 of this set. I stopped because it seemed like it was becoming a bad chick flick.
I had high hopes after reading so many 5-star reviews of Book 1. But.... It's a no for me.
The story DOES start off with a bang, but it could have been written soooo much better. There could have been more time to draw out their awkwardness and their hidden feelings for each other before jumping in to bed. We never got to see them interact with each other before they jumped in to bed, that was disappointing.
For me, I would rather watch them acknowledge their feelings to themselves, fight those feelings and then finally give in to each other. That's half of the magic of falling in love, or lust as this story was. So yes, I feel that a lot was left out that could have added more umph to the story and I felt that after they jumped in to bed, it was just a bunch of (not even great) sex scenes and insecurities/immaturity on both sides that didn't spell out any fun for me.
So, I read this 'cause my bff promised it would be a great and fast read. It was fast, that was true. Great, not so sure. I can't bring myself to give it 2 stars 'cause it waaaas sort of entertaining, and obviously it wasn't written to become a masterpiece. Ecen if it had lots of cliches, they were added in a decent way. So yeah, pretty neutral about this one.
The love story of Blake and Erin. Erin clean house for extra money for school. When Blake was looking for someone to clean Erin answer the ad. Blake's face was badly injured while he was in the Army and he thought no women would want him. He want her so he hire her to clean his home twice a week just to see her. Love bloom on her side will it grow in his?
DNF at 50%. This book started with the hero and heroine already knowing each other, so we don't get much backstory and jumps right in to the heroine walking in on the hero during self love and the rest of the book got even more awkward and just went downhill from there. Just plain boring. I wasn't invested in the characters. Don't care what happens to them, so I didn't see the point in continuing reading more of this contradictory and uneducated writing. In the beginning Erin's internal dialogue mentions that Blake is nearly old enough to be her father and her attraction to him was taboo...then Blake is referenced as being only 10 years older than Erin the rest of the time. Makes you wonder how many 10 year old fathers Skye Warren knows. Also, a simple google search would tell you that first-degree burns only affect the top layer of skin and make the affected area temporarily reddened. A man that 'nearly had half his face blown off' during war overseas and has 'ravaged' and 'heavily scarred' skin suffered from third-degree burns. This author insults my brain cells. I don't know why I keep torturing myself; I haven't liked a single thing Skye Warren has written, but I love the whole Beauty and the Beast trope and wrongly thought even she couldn't ruin that for me...I was wrong.
OMG! The BOX set is FREE! 4 books. Don’t miss out! Thanks Jess!

They are very good and impossible to put down! It was a fun and interesting way to start and book and even more fun reading how Blake and Erin earned their HEA.
Saved by The “Belle” College Edition “Beauty and the Beast
I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought this, “Blake Morris” it was the first thing that popped into my head at the time. Unlike the actual Saved by the Bell show, this book didn’t suck, if you’re willing to suspend a bit of disbelief in a few ways.
First, this book hits a bit close too close to home personally but that’s a story for another time let’s focus on Skye Warren’s work, shall we. Another way to put home is that Mr. Morris was a soldier once and that fact wasn’t used as a ploy to sell more books *cough* zombies *cough*. Now if the story is supposed to make you somewhat nostalgic for the fairytale classic… a hit and miss in some areas, I wonder have they ever made a non-cartoon parody of Beauty and the Beast, one of those parodies and no I’m not looking it up at the moment.
Now I said suspend disbelief and I’ve seen this more times than I care to but unless the guy is rich, a professional criminal, or a biker boy most of these stories just would not work. I’m not trying to disparage this story but the idea that a poor soldier with scars could pull the young coed… it just doesn’t work that way but yes fiction and all and you have to make the man a beast in some way. Just another difference between the fairytale and this story, the beast was monstrous before his makeover, Blake was a hero that got a bad deal.
If anything it reminded me a bit of Quasimodo, all it would have taken is this song “Heaven’s Light” and I would have lost it, and as Quasimodo, Blake didn’t exactly have the opportunity to change his face. The way that Blake and Erin met though… again there is just no way, I mean adult films aren’t exactly known for story content but the opening to this story was wow.
Another interesting concept is when people bring up the mental health issues in the fairytale the big one of course is Stockholm Syndrome but this story brought up its own illness. The story itself as we all know who read this genre, not exactly inspired but Skye Warren is pretty much well established and she gives you a few surprises here and there as always.
For the most part, we have our heroes dealing with PTSD and broken hearts, I mean as soon as they mentioned military you knew those burns would not be the worst thing for Blake. The first scene between him and Erin in the throes of passion was heartbreaking, again this story hits me in all kinds of ways. The connections though take me back to D H Sidebottom’s “Caged” and “Chained” how Erin dated somebody who is related to somebody, who knows her mom and so on, a bit of family drama to be sure.
Now, of course, stop me if you’ve heard this one, maid and her client, student and teacher, some roleplay and the idea of pity sex and you pretty much have this story. Guys need the visual and girls are apparently all good with the words, with book covers I tend to disagree but the dirty talk in this chapter is downright filthy awesome writing. The end of the book, if anything I think was somewhat light, you know in these titles you expect a pretty ugly fight but everything went off without a hitch, refreshing and eerie.
Anyway me being me, the monstrous looks of Blake, his first days with Erin and her family drama I was fully caught up and I think you will be too. All I can say to gentlemen is what we know all along, women are confusing as all Hell and in all my years I have never met a woman like Erin unless again you have a ton of money, or a uniform but don’t mess up your face.
A four out of five without a doubt and I was oh so tempted to go to five, so yes I think we have established that I’m a snob and even with an author who I’ve read a few stories from. Getting the epilog is a done deal and if you’ve made it this far you know Skye has a pretty hardcore fanbase and this is just one man’s opinion.
Reasons I could not give this five stars… Melinda Jenkins, and Erin’s other paramours, to me they felt somewhat tacked on, every story needs the drama of course but I wasn’t convinced of Melinda’s motivations and as I said, mental health issues. Melinda was obsessed or just another woman upset about a man and it was all too easy to just let go, and the other guys just seemed to be there to show Erin being desirable which beats the Wanderlust idea of every guy being a would be criminal in the making. The parallels between Erin and her mom were there to be in relation to Blake, PTSD and all, also the author was stretching for some climax bring Erin’s ex into the picture for a light scare actually.
I have always enjoyed Skye Warren’s work and introduced Wanderlust to a friend who says it’s one of her favorites and was a bit of her introduction into erotica. I haven’t talked much about Erin’s character but that’s because I relate to Blake without the military background, money, and being cursed with my face, I wonder how many women see themselves as Erin though I know plenty who play Melinda.
“She needed to understand. This was how it would be, him leading and her placid. It was the only way he could worship her properly, because if she spoke a single word, he’d obey.” ― Skye Warren, The Beauty Series
This book in a way reminds me of some of the dating manuals I’ve read just from a woman’s perceptive, unfortunately, that advice is wrong which is why this is a truly awesome work of fiction. I’ve learned that authors can also make somewhat nice parodies and not just adult films but Saved by the Bell wasn’t high school or college really and this story surely won’t be your typical Beauty and the Beast fairytale.
I couldn't get all the way through this. I made it about half way in the series before I realized I was getting nauseous from the over the top, fluff filled writing. Also, I know this is considered erotic literature, but it was one mustache, pizza boy and cheesy background music away from being 70's porn bad. They couldn't develop the story line or characters fully because they kept humping like bunnies. Ridiculous! I know that most won't agree with this statement, but I prefer more well rounded story lines where the love making may add to the story, but isn't the whole story.
This was free on Amazon today so I thought I'd give it a go.
It was an alright read. SUPER insta-love and pretty hot sex wise. I just felt it dragged a little and to be honest nothing really happened. A nasty ex that lasted about two pages and that was about the extent of the agnst. Characters that popped in for two seconds and were never heard from again.
I give this book 4.5 stars! I am a sucker for Beauty and the Beast type romances ( I am a Disney freak!). Anyways, I adored both main characters and the sex was hot! Very fast paced read. I only wished for an epilogue to see a glimpse in the future for this adorable couple! :)
This was okay. Erin and Blake were cute together, and I liked them both okay, but there just wasn't anything special about this book IMO. I have no complaints about the writing or storyline, but I just didn't really connect I guess.
